The message is loud and clear.
Allah's Prophet

said:
"Whoever went to a fortune-teller and asked him about some matter (i.e. of the unseen) and believed him, will have his prayer rejected for forty days."

It is reported on the authority of Abu Hurairah (ra) that the Prophet

"Whoever went to a fortune-teller and believed in what he said, has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad."

There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isnt true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true

These astrologers and their followers are making a fool out of themselves by thinking that they can predict their future, and they can make it better somehow, or they can prepare themselves a head of time which can reduce the effect of any incident..bad luck that these people are increasing in numbers and they are becoming very popular in our country

May Allah reward you for your good deeds.

Once upon a time I use to look at these things. Then I read an article on this subject and did my own research. Since then I do not look at these things anymore.
It is kind of strange that we have lost faith on Allah but we are following these fortune tellers, sitaroon ka haall batanay walay.
This is an alarming sign of our weaknesses.

When we'll not follow the teaching of Islam then these things'll happen. I am surprised that no Aalim has not yet given any Fatwa against these BS......

i just googled this question about islam and astrology .. i found a very useful article on this .. so i am sharing it with you..

Question
Why does islam forbid prediction of the future through astrology and other sources like these? If we use these methods to find out what a person's true personality is, is it haram?

Answer
Peace

Not only is the practice of astrology Haraam , but also visiting an astrologist and listening to his predictions, buying books on astrology or reading one's horoscope are also forbidden! Since astrology is mainly used for predicting the future, those who practice it are considered fortune-tellers. Consequently, one who seeks his horoscope comes under the ruling contained in the Prophet's statement: "The Salaah (daily prayer) of whoever approaches a fortune-teller and asks him about anything will not be accepted for forty days and nights." [Reported by Hafsah and collected by Muslim (Sahih Muslim (English Trans.), vol. 4, p. 1211, no. 5440).]

The punishment in this Hadeeth is simply for approaching and asking the astrologist, even if one is in doubt about the truth of his statements. If one is in doubt about the truth or falsehood of astrological information, he is in doubt about whether or not others know the unseen and the future besides Allaah. This is a form of Shirk because Allaah has clearly stated:

"With Him are the keys to the unseen and none knows it except Him" [Soorah al-An'aa,m 6:59]

"Say: None in the heavens or earth knows the unseen except Allaah." [Soorah an-Naml 27:65]

If, however, one believes in the predictions of their horoscope, whether spoken by an astrologist or written in books of astrology, he falls directly into Kufr (disbelief) as stated by the Prophet (sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam) "Whoever approaches an oracle or fortune-teller and believes in what he says, has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad." [Reported by Abu Hurayrah and collected by Ahmad and Abu Daawood (Sunan Abu Dawud (English Trans.), vol. 3, p. 1095, no. 3895).]

Like the previous Hadeeth, this Hadeeth literally refers to the fortune-teller but it is just as applicable to the astrologist. Both claim knowledge of the future. The astrologist's claim is just as opposed to Tawheed as the ordinary fortune-teller. He claims that people's personalities are determined by the stars, and their future actions and the events of their lives are written in the stars. The ordinary fortune-teller claims that the formation of tea leaves at the bottom of a cup, or lines in a palm tell him the same thing. In both cases individuals claim the ability to read in the physical formation of created objects knowledge of the unseen.

Belief in astrology and the casting of horoscopes are in clear opposition to the letter and spirit of Islaam. It is really the empty soul, which has not tasted real Eemaan (belief) that seeks out these paths. Essentially these paths, represent a vain attempt to escape Qadar (fate). The ignorant believe that if they know what is in store for them tomorrow, they can prepare from today. In that way they may avoid the bad and ensure the good. Yet, Allaah's messenger was told by Allaah to say: "If I knew the unseen, I would surely have only sought the good. But, I am only a warner and a bearer of glad tidings for believers." [Al-Qur'an Soorah al-A'raaf 7:188]

True Muslims are therefore obliged to stay far away from these areas. Thus, rings, chains, etc., which have the signs of the Zodiac on them should not be worn, even if one does not believe in them. They are part and parcel of a fabricated system which propagates Kufr and should be done away with entirely. No believing Muslim should ask another what his sign is, or attempt to guess his sign. Nor should he or she read horoscope columns in newspapers or listen to them read. And, any Muslim who allows astrological predictions to determine his actions, should seek Allaah's forgiveness and renew his Islaam.

Then there is a difference between astrology, numerology and Palmistry.

Now there is something called Ilm-e-Jafferia, can anyone explain or talk on that ?

I think the question is what is reality behind all this?

Humans were always interested in trying to find out their futur as much as they could.

By looking at our cicumstances as they are we could go back in time as well as go forward in time. We have learned a lot of things by now due to accumulated information that is why we know a lot about our past and we can know a lot about our future eg weather forecasts or financial forecasts are a common thing. All because we depend on weather and finnacial planning for our livelihood.

Some people are very clever at studying things in detail and so they can see things where we may not eg evolution theory came about because scientists found some clues into our past and came up with some sort of explanation.

Likewise so called palmisters, astrologers, mind readers, clairvoyances etc etc are counsellers who try to find out from yourselves as what to what you are, what you want etc etc and then give back what they get from you as if they are telling you something you did not know before. So all they are doing is getting the data from you, organising it and then reading into it what may be relevant to you.

The other way to look at it is, that there are still a lot of things we humans do not know about our human capabilities so may be some people are there who are gifted with certain things that we ourselves are not. Telepathy, televiewing and god knows what else. So we cannot dismiss things out of hands.

What allah warns us about is people who are cheaters, who try to con us because they are con artisits. They have no knowledge yet falsely claim powers for themselves and thereby make fools of others.

There are body language experts, there are hand writing experts and likewise there are body experts. Such people can guide us about things for our benefit eg not all hands are good for engineering or rough work so one may advise us as to what will be more suitable job for us as profession by looking at our body and limbs as well as our knowledge and interest etc.

So dismissing everyone is not a good idea but I agree that there is a lot wrong with our society and most people are con artists and should be avoided.

Besides there are people who are creating a lot of disputes within the families by sowing seeds of hate and suspecion and mistrust and distrust thereby ruining a lot of families.

As for the quranic verse that none knows the unseen save allah, it is about without means of knowledge. If allah tells then one knows and allah only tells to whomever he reveals his message. Others only know through available means and clues or evidences eg doctors can tells us about a baby not born yet by means available to them. Some midwives are expert at telling whether one is going to have a baby girl or a boy. They have life time experience behind them because they have been observing so many pregnant women.

So those who have no clues or ways and means to know things yet claim to be able to tell things then that is surely suspicious but otherwise there is nothinng wrong seeking avdice from experts. In fact if you start a business without good advice you may not be successful at all or not as successful as you could be.

The quran is right that none can knows the unseen without allah telling one or witout one having ways of knowing things by way of clues or instruments or other means etc.

Here the quran is telling us that prophets are a special bunch of people. Other who may claim to be like them cannot be so ie they are imposters. Only a real prophet is able to prophesy any true prophecy.

I agree: Fortune telling is haraam.
There is a body of research indicating that the ability of humans to predict future is very poor.
Consider these:
Lord Maxwell said that any thing heavier than air cannot fly.
The World may need no more than a dozen computers ( IBM CEO ? date).
just look at the stock market prognostications, etc etc
And countless more (google or Bing)
