Not only in UK but in Pakistan you will see women in all those jobs where company can use them to compel customers. Women is being use as a product not a human being not a mother or daughter. Can you see a woman with Parda on any counter or sales place. Parda is what gives respect to a woman. Aurat itself means parda.
And you rightly said all science and technology base is provided by Muslims. Islamic Spain History is an example. Also Baghdad History. Both were Centers of learning probably better than current USA and UK Universities because they provided the base to progress and come to current age of technology.
