I was thinking the same, it wasn't actually a fatwa by al-Azhar, but haters tried to jump the bandwagon. Reality is Minhaj-ul-Quran and al-Azhar are really close. 2 years ago lots of Minhaj scholars were honorarily given the title of al-Azhari.

Another slap in the face of people who say why is he called Shaykh-ul-Islam. The senior scholars of al-Azhar University are calling him Shaykh-ul-Islam!!!

Dr. Hassan's doctorate not just international law but constitutional law and comparative law. Dr. Hussains doctorate is related to global politics as well as Economy. He has already wrote 10 books & lots of articles.
