An astonishing plane crash left a passenger jet upside down at Toronto Pearson International Airport Monday afternoon, with uninjured passengers helping others jump down from the plane’s overturned ceiling to the snow-covered tarmac.Passenger's video shows Delta plane crash at Toronto Pearson Airport
Three were critically injured, including a child, and transported by air ambulance.
But with no one immediately dead, the crash had an air of impossibility. People who seconds earlier had been hanging by their seatbelts were now outside in minus-9 winds, walking away toward safety, looking back on what they had just survived, filming it on their phones, narrating in their shock.

“First and foremost, there was no loss of life, and this in due part to our heroic and trained professionals, our first responders at the airport,” said Deborah Flint, president and CEO of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, at a Monday night press conference at the airport.
Flint said the flight arrived at about 2:30 p.m.
“Airport emergency workers mounted a textbook response, reaching the site within minutes and quickly evacuating the passengers,” she said.
She said 17 injured passengers were transported to local hospitals, and she said she understands none have critical injuries. She described the injuries as “relatively minor.” The airport’s fire chief, Todd Aitken, later said 18 injured passengers had been sent to local hospitals.
