PPP-MQM agree to hold meeting in Dubai today
KARACHI (SANA): The top leadership of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and the ruling Pakistan peoples party (PPP) is meeting in Dubai today to discuss the current political situation in the country, it is learnt.

According to details Interior Minister Rehman Malik will join talks from the peoples party side while Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad had earlier reached to the UAE after meeting President Asif Zardari in Islamabad.

No details of the governor-president meeting were available but sources said a last-ditch attempt was being made by the government to make a deal with MQM on the NRO and local goverments issue

While the governor left for Dubai on Wednesday night, a strong delegation of the MQM leaders led by Anwar Bhaijan was flying in from London to join the talks with Malik.

According to sources, the talks would also focus on the resignation of the president. The MQM was of the view that the president should show grace by quitting his post and not becoming controversial.

I am agreed with you Mr. Hunter. But please remind yourself this is not the first time in the history of Pak politics. Do you know the Charter of Democracy and then APC were also passed in London. Who were the participants on those meetings? NS, BB, IK, QH and many. So, don't be angry on MQM only.

One more point to be noted here that very tight scruitny of MQM, making this party very disciplined and eventually popular among the masses.
Keep it up, we appreciate your keen observation. Without your co-operation and critism, MQM can never move forward.

Two parties , i have seen in the past, are always been in the "Give n Take" spectrum . MQM & Maulana Fazal ur Rehman Party... But if ! what i have heard above (ISI Chief's Meeting) is true then MQM won't change its decesion . Otherwise we have seen in the past , MQM raises an issue with the government then under the deals (say by taking 2 new Ministries) they will change their stance ..
But Party aside... I think MQM has taken the right decesion to oppose this NRO stuff & they must be appriciated for this.. And i hope that they will not change their stand on this issue...

I do apologize if I mixed my brothers in Karachi with MQM. I was always under the impression that every Urdu speaking living in Karachi belonged to MQM.
