ET JULY 21,2023 : The big picture? An independent study by the University of Maryland's National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism concluded that being affiliated with the U.S. military is the “single strongest” predictor of violent extremism in America.

Since 1990, 639 people affiliated with the military have committed domestic extremist offenses in the United States, according to the researchers at START. That includes 188 people charged with attacking the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 who were either serving in the military or veterans.

But today, the military has almost nothing to show for its efforts, a USA TODAY investigation has found. Most steps in the process are stalled or inactive, and the reforms experts said were most important haven’t happened.

The military ordered big steps to stop extremism. Two years later, it shows no results USA TODAY identified 20 reforms proposed by Defense secretary and a group he assigned to the task. Today, many steps appear stalled, and the most important reforms haven't happened.

All the extremism, social and political unrest in the US is due to it War of terror. They are paying what they have sown, they needed xenophobia and fear in population to create grounds and support domestically to bomb foreign countries for the sake of military industrial complex, now their society has so much paranoia and Xenophobia that it is tearing itself apart. I am NOT sad for it, whenever i hear that there have been another mass shooting, I think it is well deserved.
