The allegations of corruption hamper the progress of development, the recent case of misuse of development funds in Faisalabad is no exception, one wonders that the role of legislators is to formulate laws and debate policy issues, building roads and hand pumps is perhaps not their duty? I am not sure but do the Mps in UK or US get development funds?
What is the role of local governments then?

Transparency is a key and foremost aspect of good governance. The rampant corruption is an obstacle for foreign investors to invest in Pakistan and that undermines the development process. Pakistan invests 2.5% of its GDP in health and public education. Which is not even insufficient but rather negligible, this gap is covered by development organizations and foreign donors who would like to see their tax-payers money being utilized for good!
