Im a wrestling fan as well and used to follow the pro-wrestling matches for many years and do know to some extent the quality of Pakistani wrestlers in the past. I personally think that our people do not plan and progress according to the new requirements of time and then claim others for their eventual miseries. No doubt that Pakistan dont have the backing of corporate and government sectors for the patronage of this valuable sport but I also think that forming the professional guilds on the basis of self cooperation Pakistani wrestlers and its potential promoters can revive this dipping fortunes of this dignified sport. Its about a time that Pakistani wrestlers have achieved any substantive accomplishment and medals for Pakistan and hence its easier to understand the traditional negligence from the part of Pakistani government in particular and its corporate organisations in general.
The new generation of Pakistani wrestlers now have to adopt to the new grappling and manoeuvring techniques of this game and try to shift their practise from the muddy surface to the mat and intensive world wide tours are necessary for the chosen best talent of Pakistan to wrestle and gain some valuable skills and experience from the foreigners especially against the Eastern European block of countries, Russians, Iranians and Americans. In depth scientific coaching courses are also required for the trainers to develop the valuable talent of Pakistani wrestlers and to further furnish them with the valuable diet and training programmes by marinating the combination of traditional and new scientific methods which are part and parcel for their training. So effective vision, planning and execution is the need of the hour for not only the wrestling fraternity of Pakistan but in other sports disciplines as well and only then they can achieve to the lofty heights of their luminary predecessors.
