I was intending to go to make a NICOP renewal application in Nadra London office for my child.
I was trying to book appoint and have come across with this link below.

First thing is there is no option for NICOP there. I guess they have changed it to Smart NICOP (SNICOP)

Secondly, they are asking for the payment at second step and says the payment will not be refunded. I don't now how will they take
picture to renew the NICOP. There is a tab for picture after few steps but i cant reach there without paying the fee. The fee is in Pak Rupee.

I am only willing to proceed if it will save my visit to Nadra office London.

Has anyone tried this service? Do they ask you to upload you fresh picture.?
I guess you dont need to provide documents for the renewal application but the Picture might be required as my child was just 1 month old when first NICOP was issued.

I applied many times online.

First Step:
https://ibb.co/cXrb27J

CLick on:

CNIC/NICOP
Online application for National Identity Card for Pakistani citizens living in Pakistan or abroad.

And then APPLY Now.....

Then choose the option which is relevant to you...

Like: My Identity Card (CNIC/NICOP) has expired

Yes, you do have to upload the picture...

Yes, obviously this will save your visit to high commission. But whole online process will take about 2 hours...

You also need your thumb impression. So, you should have stamp pad at home... Scan the thumb impression page and upload again..

Yes, I tried this service. It is highly recommended.
They will ask you to upload a new photo.

You will be required to download a form at the end of the application and then scan and upload with your fingerprints and NICOP details of two people.

By some technical error, they may ask you to upload 'change of name deed', so just write on a page that you have not applied of the change of name, take its photo and upload with the change of name deed option.

That's a safe service and a great relief for overseas Pakistanis.

Hi,

I just received my renewed Smart Nicop a week ago and applied via online service.

This being first time for myself didn't go very well. I paid fee online, an application number was created and I set up my login. I left it as it was for about 5 months and completed the application online couple of months ago.

Initially it didn't go well as it was new to me and I got stuck on couple of stages; I uploaded the picture with white background and edited it to certain MBs (I think 3-5MB) as suggested on the system.

I completed all stages which was simple information and uploaded supporting documents where required such as spouse ID & NICOP etc. All scanned items should be accurate file size as advised on Nadra application system, otherwise the system wouldn't upload it and the process won't complete.

Once I completed all stages, I downloaded the biological data form filled in biometric finger prints and signed. It needs signature of a Nicop holder other than a family member. Once completed and signed, scan, upload and complete the application form.

Once completed, submit it. You'll get a confirmation from NADRA via email. I also got a phone call from Rawalpindi head office for confirmation of some information. I was advised on the phone that the application is ok now. I received card in 2/3 weeks, I think following the phone call.

Please note when I got stuck on couple of stages (i.e. irrelevant supporting documents required during the process such as name change certificate whereas I didn't change name)
I just uploaded my passport and old Nicop.

I went to Manchester Nicop office, a typical patwari style staff refused to entertain me saying they'd got nothing to do with online application. However, a lovely young guy 'Aqeel' who symbolically represented 'Naya Pakistan' (lol) was helping everyone out, asked me to wait and he did his best to guide me on the process.

In short, I processed it online and eventually got my new ID card that comes with a chip now.... very smart and more of an international standard.

Yes it will save you visit. I live in a place where the nearest high commission is 2000 miles away. Did it from home and got Nicop in 14 days. Picture and fingerprints are required so you should have a scanner and camera.

It seems good service but it is not properly programmed.
There are 11 steps for the form and they ask Payment at 3rd step and say the Payment cannot be returned. They should ask Payment at last step in case at any step you want to cancel the process.

This is the guy we can thank for the great NADRA technical system. You can't even get passport or identify card sitting at home in most developed nations. As we do with everyone who is talented, educated and smart without strong wadera, army, political links, we drive them outside the country to go serve others with their talents and innovations.

Under this guy's leadership, NADRA sold their systems to other countries like Bangladesh for millions of dollars. But alas he was kicked out of Pakistan back to USA

What do you expect when the service hasn't been improved since the IT guy we imported from USA had to leave the country after getting threats on his life and his family's life?

Yes, there are some tiny issues, very small, trust me.

They ask for payment in the start because they have to grant you access to the database of NADRA and it makes sense. Even if you travel to the embassy, you will still be required to pay first and then the process will start.

Why It does not give me the option for NICOP.

New Card Type : 0 Smart NICOP 0 Smart ID

Why it does not give me the option for NICOP. Is Smart NICOP same as NICOP or something else?

Yes I believe so. All NICOPS come with a smart chip now as far as I understand it.

Is the Smart NICOP same as NICOP. Have they replaced NICOP with Smart NICOP.
When i clicked on : I want to review my NICOP. It took me to the next step.
Where it is only giving my Smart NICOP and Smart ID option.

I do not remember such details, honestly.
I preferred smart NICOP, as it was more advanced, solid and hard as compared to the fluffy NICOP.
