How many Laptops Can A Person Carry to Pakistan?

As a lot of people on this forum are overseas Pakistanis, I needed some guidance from the community of this forum.

A relative of mine is returning to Pakistan from abroad and want to bring some laptops with him to Pakistan. As this is his first time returning to Pakistan, we are not sure about the quantity of such devices one is allowed to bring with him.

How many laptops can he bring with him? Will the customs officials impose any duties on such laptops if the laptops are brand new? What about if the laptops are used? Should he bring the receipts he received when buying the laptops?

Any help and guidance will be really appreciated.

You also mentioned the duty. Is their a slab system to the duty? e.g. whether the same duty will be applied to the laptop worth 500$ and another one worth 1000$?

to discourage smuggled computers they are putting 3000 fix duty....i am not sure if they are implementing or not. BTW how many laptops ur friend gonna carry?

Actually we want to carry as much as we can. You see he wants to bring the laptops to Pakistan for resale so he can pay for the tickets from Germany to Pakistan and then from Pakistan to Germany again.

I asked about 3 so I would know what type of duties my relative will have to pay if he brings more than two.

i am Pakistani and i live abroad , believe me we love our Pakistan more than people who are living in Pakistan. its just like when you live with your family you dont really care but when you are far you miss your family.

I ll advise u to bring two laptops safe and sound. One shud be in laptop bag on ur shoulder and other inside hand carry bag. These days customs are scanning everything. So u ll be careful to carry more then 2 laptops.

So he should not pack the laptops in the bag which has 30Kg limit that gets stored in the cargo hold of the plane?

i went in 2012 that time i had brand new laptop as gift with me for gift but i did not carried packaging and carried receipt with me if in-case custom asked for it. Please carried in your hand luggage because there is chance to lost in booked luggage. good luck
