Find below an interesting experiment done by scientists on Monkeys to find how norms are generated (رسم یا روایت کیسے جنم لیتی ہے)

It would be more interesting to see this experiment keeping in mind a religion such as Islam. How are we following blindly people around us. Although Allah and Prophet Muhammad (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) has given us Qur'aan and Sunnat (Hadeeths), still we prefer to follow the our ancestors, traditions and what people doing around us.

Islam is very strict about "Bida'at" , creating something new in religion and thinking that it is part of Shariat (شریعت). Somebody might think he is doing good by introducing something good according to his/her knowledge but with the passage of time it may become norm (رسم) and then part of Sharia. The only litmus test (کسوٹی) we have in Islam is Qur'aan and Sunnah (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم).

Keep yourself away from Bida'at like, spreading chadar on Qbar, Urs, making Mazars etc. If you are true Muslim then at least follow Allah's basic commandments - Namaz (payers 5 time), Roza, Hajj, Zakaat...

Do not follow any peer (پیر), faqeer (فقیر), wali (ولی) but only follow Qura'an and Allah's messenger's (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) Ahadeeths.

If you find an authentic Hadeeth which is contrary (خلاف) to Imam's saying than reject the saying of Imam not the Hadeeth. This is what all four Imams have told us.

You can do an experiment yourself in Pakistan. All you need to do is find a dead donkey and then bury him near a village. Sit on the grave for few days and keep watering the grave. And then put chadar (????) on the grave. And then start building the Mazar (????). You will find many people approaching you and will help building the mazar (????). In few years you will see the Qawalis and all the bida'at and Shirk. People will soon start coming for minnat (????) and murad (????).... and so on (???? ????)

Bida'at aur shirk ki sab roots inhi ghair mustanad riwayaat se shuru hoti hain.. jin k asma-ur-rijaal ka maloom nahi hota aur Muhaddeseen kiram aisi riwayat ko kubool hi nahi krtay lakin phir yeh riwayaat seena ba seena hoti hoi jahil aur gumrah logon tak pohnch jati hain jo inhain apni marzi ka mafhoom pahna kr aam logon k samany paish kr k apnay shirk aur bida'at se bharpur kaam ki tojeeh bana letay hain.. aur iss ki sab se bari misaal hamaray haan mazaarat aur peeron k adday hain jahan yeh kaam iss zoro shor se jari hay k Khuda ki panah..
Wo oliya kiram jo apni zindagi men kisi hadees ko bayan krtay hoye yun ghabra jaya krtay thay k kahin anjanay men koi aisi baat Nabi (sallallaho alayhe wasallam) se mansoob na ho jaye jo Aap(s.a.w) ne nahi farmaee.. Sahaaba kiram ka bhi iss baray men aisa haal tha k Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (razi allaho ta'ala) k baray men kaha jata hay jab wo koi Hadees bayan farmaya krtay thay to khauf aur dahshat se un ka rang peela par jaya krta tha .. lakin aaj kal hr doosra admi jisay na to Riwayat-e-hadees ka kuch ilm hay aur na hi shariat ka lakin jab wo koi guftugu krnay lagta hay to aisi aisi ahadees Aap (sallallaho alayeh wasallam) se mansoob krta hay k jis ka koi wujood ya daleel hi nahi.. aur isi tarah sunnany walay iss baat ko apni taraf se do batain barha kr agay barha detay hain.. isi tarah bida'at k irtiqa hota hay..aur deen ki asal rooh shadeed muta'sir hoti hay...
Quran aur hadees k ilm k husool k baad hi kisi ko yeh haq haasil hay k wo hadees bayan kray...warna aaj jo haal hamari society ka hay uss se to yun lagta hay k jo bhi ghar se naraz ho wo Quran Hadees k apnay mafhoom bayan krna shuru kr deta.. aur maghrib zada universities k parhnay walay moderate professors aaj kal islam ki jo tashreeh kr rahay hain jis ki aik misaal ghamdi sahib hen Allah ta'ala un k shar se ham sab ko bachaye Aameen...
