Imran's a Good man. Unfortunately statecraft requires not just a Good man. It's good however that he is trying to get elected. Atleast he can say that he tried, although he will be unsuccessful because he will be let down by the people of Pakistan.
You are right the PMLN guys are worried about PTI, however you are wrong about the reason. PTI will not beat PMLN. However it will cause just enough damage for PMLN to lose out to PPP. And this is where Imran Khan is making a mistake. Not sure if I agree with your assessment. Nooras are extremely concerned and scared of PTI popularity. That's why they are licking their spit with inclusion of large numbers of PMLq members. They frequently woo IK by criticising him of his solo flight. All these manoeuvres points to their true fear of surging PTI popularity.

LoL. Unfortunately most of us Pakistanis are too emotional. The hard truth is PTI has been really bad at all elections they have run in. They were a no show at the time where it mattered the most. PTI would've had a great chance of winning had the election been a lottery and not a contest. The way PTI has historically performed, it is unlikely they will even be a major opposition after losing. At the most I expect PTI to give a good fight and steal some of PMLN votes. The person most happy with PTI's performance after the PTI workers ofcourse is Mr. Zardari. This is called propaganda. Real fight will be between PTI, and PMLn and hence all the focus on PMLn. I don't mind if PTI does not come to power (however, if they get the power then it will be even better for our country) because I know they will play the role of a real opposition. In a true democracy, sometimes opposition can play even a bigger role in policy making and direction of the country. Unfortunately, PMLn did not take this job seriously and hence they should pay for this in the upcoming elections. Hopefully, the elections are conducted in next few months and we will see what changes it will bring to our country.

I think Imran Khan made a strategic error when he decided to chase PMLN rather than directly go after Zardari. Hence why I said, Imran Khan maybe honest, but he makes mistakes.
Lincoln had the outstanding luck of having a massive civil war preceding his election as the President of the United States. Lincoln was a shrewd self taught lawyer. Lincoln was a very skilled orator. Lincoln also had an audience that was far more issue oriented than Pakistanis who have allegiances to dynastic families since the beginning of time. Politics of the US civil war era and Pakistan of 2013 are no where near the same. Imran Khan is no Jinnah. Imran Khan is no Iqbal. My forefathers told me they used to goto Jinnah's speeches even though they didn't understand a word of English. They say they remember a Pakistan where if Jinnah said it was Night at 12 in the afternoon, they would believe him. That is how much sway Jinnah had over Pakistanis during the time of Independence. Today in contrast it is a time of distrust and disdain. Even if you trust Imran Khan to be an honest leader, you cannot trust him to have the ability to lead Pakistan. You are right. However, this is called struggle. There are a lot of great leaders whose history is littered with failures. I will share ab lincoln's biography here.
