Americans military base in Ladakh is definitely on the cards, after Afghanistan, this is next Americans move in the area, India is just a pawn.

US will not base itself in direct combat situation wtih any equivalent rival....certainly not China. They never did that with USSR or Russia either. They always used indirect force through allies.
As far as India is concerned, they have no choice but to prepare for something big, becuase once the curfew is lifted in Kashmir, its gonna explode . They seem to think people are just going to roll over and forget the move, or the curfew.
