Jemima Khan's brother bans Russell Brand from family nightclub
Oh dear, oh dear.
One minute Russell Brand and Jemima Khan are cycling happily across London's Tower Bridge, eating worm-like noodles at a Hoxton Vietnamese restaurant, snogging on a sofa and zipping over to New York for a romantic reunion in Manhattan's East Village.
The next minute, Jemima is on the phone to her brother, Robin Birley, and discussing the fact that he doesn't approve of her new relationship* - and that he's banning Russell from hanging out at his exclusive nightclub, No 5 Hertford St in London's Mayfair.
"Robin had no idea Jemima was dating Russell until he saw pictures of them together," claims an insider to the Daily Mail."He told his friends and family he was 'mortified'."
Which sounds a little bit excessive. Our sister once dated a man with a green mohican, and the only emotion we felt was surprise at the amount of time he took to make it stand up straight in the mornings.
But it would appear that Robin is a little bit more straight-laced. And Russell's past heroin/sex/thesaurus addictions appear to make him feel a little bit uncomfortable.
"He doesnt think it is appropriate for his sister to be dating someone like Russell," the insider clarifies. "Essentially Robin is a bit of an old-school traditionalist and thinks that he is the wrong sort. He has said that Russell wont be welcome."
We're sure that Russell is broken hearted at the revelations. He's probably sobbing onto his yoga mat as we speak.
