Karachi: Rangers, police prepare to launch operation in Lyari, Orangi

Heavy contingents of Police and Rangers have reached Lyari and operation is expected to be launched.


The Rangers and police are patrolling in different areas of Karachi while heavy contingents of Rangers and police have reached in Orangi Town and Qasba Colony.

Meanwhile, Rangers have been deployed in Old Area Lyari, however, police will launch all operations in Qasba Colony.
The Rangers have started snap checking in different areas of Lyari.

According to the sources, the door to door search operation would be conducted after cordoning off the area.

On the other side, residents of Lyari have turned to the streets against the operation.

Scores arrested amid Orangi, Qasba operation

Staff Report KARACHI: A number of alleged miscreants have been taken under arrest during a join operation carried out by police and rangers’ personnel in different parts of the troubled localities namely Orangi Town, Kati Pahari and Qasba Colony of Karachi on Tuesday overnight, SAMAA reported. Also, the security agencies claimed recovery of heavy cache of illegal arms and ammunitions from the possession of under arrest criminals. Inspector General Sindh police and other high-level security officers supervised the offensive. Arrested accused have been moved to unidentified locations for investigations. Another five persons were nabbed during a separate search operation in areas of Lyari locality after Tuesday midnight. SAMAA

KARACHI: Police and Rangers jointly carried out search operation in various parts of the metropolis on late Tuesday, detaining six suspects and recovering weapons from their possessions, Geo News reported.

According to the details, the operation was launched in Orangi Town, Kati Pahari, Muhammad Pur and adjoining areas. During the search operation several suspects were detained.

Rehman Malik along with Karachi Police Chief Saud Mirza, DIG East Imran Yaqub and various others police officials visited the areas soon after the launching of search operation.

On the occasion, Malik told media that that the operations were not being carried out in any particular area, adding the operation would be launched anywhere in the metropolis on intelligence report about presence of criminals.

Malik said that six suspected have been arrested while weapons were also recovered from their possessions during the operation.

Meanwhile, Rangers has begun search operation in Khamisu Goth area of New Karachi and in Mikasa Apartment of Gulshan e Iqbal.

Earlier, heavy contingent of Police and Rangers were deployed in Lyari. Due to the resistance showed by the residents by torching tyres on the streets no operation was carried out. Meanwhile, unidentified men opened fire in Agra Taj area of Lyari, injuring six people, which were rushed to Civil Hospital.

Operation in Lyari can never be carried out as the head of the gangsters Zulfiqar Mirza has clearly said in the meeting with PM that operation in Lyari will affect PPP vote bank.
It will be great injustice if Lyari is skipped,it will bring Karachi to a total halt and cause billions of loss to the country.
