It is a proven fact that Hajj has the highest gathering in the world and this is based on Western, secular and academic sources.

Within the Muslim world gatherings, interestingly, the tableeghis gather the most people.

It is impossible and nonsensical to believe that a country like Iraq that has a population of 20 million can gather a population of 25 million

What's worse is that this missionary tactic only brought people who got retaliatory and this means that the goal was to not propagate one faith but instead to create or show its dominance.

Anyone hoping to win converts would win at a more conciliatory approach like saying that even though it is a "peaceful gathering", its a peaceful gathering that includes all faiths but as we are all well aware, no Muslims from different schools of thought are allowed to take part in this despite having the same reverence that you claim to have, as well.

At the Hajj, this is not true as everyone is allowed there except Qadiyanis. When those present in the picture aren't stopped from visiting the event others find to be the holiest, why aren't others allowed the same right?

The event that is shown in the picture is obviously considered more holy than Hajj to the person who made the thread and this is why I made the statement, above.

Had that not been true, a failed and fake tactic of spamming Wikipedia and removing the Hajj wouldn't have taken place.

In short, the question is, why can't others visit Kerbala while you are not stopped from Hajj?

bhai mere iraq ki total population 32 million hai .. and it is proven fact .. no body can ever host people that are equal to 75% of its population .. even in hajj it takes 30 days for 100,000 flights to carry just 3million passengers to saudi .. and during hajj operations whole saudi airports get jam packed .. never seen or heard abt such situation in iraq ..

a big yes to peaceful protesting...say NO to violence because when you adopt it, no matter how right your thoughts and how decent your overall intentions might be you are not going to be impressing many with it!

Hussain (RA) say logo ko itni muhabbat hai kay un ki azeem qurbaani ki yaad mein millions Karabala jaatay hain. Is ko Urdu mein Fazail hi kehtay hain. Is ko Hajj say compare karna aik fuzool harkat hai. Hajj ki apni fazeelat hai aur wo aik farz ibadat hai. Hajj mein visa restriction hoti hai. This limits the number of people. There is no need to draw any comparison.

Travel agent ka naam poochna faaltoo baat hai. Every country has different travel agents. You can visit any one of them in your country of residence and they'll help you with your Iraq visa application. Member named seekers has also posted pics of non-muslims visiting Karbala. So, I hope you'll start seeing facts inshaAllah.

Well I don't agree with the figures given above. If you check the sources of the news you will find these sources don't seem credible.

Shiites flocks to Iraqi city of Karbala for Arbaeen rituals

Shiites from around the world gather at the Iraqi city of Karbala for the climax of Arbaeen Thursday under heightened security against sectarian attacks. In the past 10 days, some 15 million pilgrims have taken part in the mourning rituals.

Shiite pilgrims from Iraq and around the world are to throng Iraq's shrine city of Karbala on Thursday for the climax of Arbaeen mourning rituals amid tight security for fear of militant attacks.
Over the past 10 days, the annual commemoration ceremonies are expected to have drawn up to 15 million pilgrims braving the threat of deadly violence by Sunni insurgents targeting the Shiite community in recent weeks.
Arbaeen marks 40 days after the Ashura anniversary commemorating the slaying of Imam Hussein, one of Shiite Islam's most revered figures, by the armies of the caliph Yazid in 680 AD.
Sad songs blared from loudspeakers throughout the city and black flags fluttered alongside pictures of Hussein and his half-brother Imam Abbas, both of whom are buried in the city.
"We are defying terrorism, and we are following the example of Karbala in sacrifice and redemption," said 40-year-old Mohammed Swadi, who noted that he had walked for 12 days from the southern port city of Basra for the occasion.
"This is not much when it comes to expressing our love for Imam Hussein."
Officials expect some 15 million worshippers to have passed through the city, which lies 110 kilometres (70 miles) south of Baghdad, by the end of the commemorations.
Among them will be around 600,000 pilgrims from 30 different countries, leaving all of the city's 700 hotels packed to the brim.
The threat of insurgent attacks has spurred authorities to deploy 35,000 soldiers and policemen to Karbala, including 2,500 policewomen at checkpoints across the city, with aerial surveillance also watching over pilgrims.
Attacks on Shiites in just the past week have left at least 12 people dead, including an explosion along the route from Baghdad to Karbala on Wednesday that killed two pilgrims who were on the traditional walk to the shrine city.
Shiites make up around 15 percent of Muslims worldwide. They represent the majority populations in Iraq, Iran and Bahrain and form significant communities in Afghanistan, Lebanon, Pakistan, India and Saudi Arabia.

Brother, these are local Iraqi Christians that most probably live in the same city or nearby.

I was sincerely asking about others from across the Muslim world outside of the traditional spots that usually gather pilgrims.

Hajj is the largest gathering, as I have clarified and the other member has, as well, through a more reputable source than Wikipedia, which has placed Kerbala 5 times in a list of 5.

It is common knowledge and obvious to all Muslims that Hajj would be the most holiest event and would attract the most number of Muslims as it is the most important gathering for the Muslims, world over.

The reason it is not "faaltu" is because it is obvious that you went through an ImamBargah and not by yourself or just walk into an embassy for the same reason along with being promised security as is the case with Hajj.

Also, this is important to promote unity because as you've also made clear, Hajj is considered less holy to those in the pic, which is why they are propagating the procession along with you stating that it is "fazail". Therefore, if the holiest occasion to the Muslims is the Hajj while the holiest occasion is being made something else to someone else, it only makes sense that Muslims be allowed to Kerbala, as freely as they are for Hajj so hate, differences and divisions are reduced.
