Malala Yousafzai, a children rights activist and National Peace Award winner, was critically injured, along with another girl student, after a gunman fired upon her school van on Tuesday in Mingora town of district Swat.
Fourteen-year-old Yousafzai hails from Mingora and is known for her outstanding services for the promotion of girls’ education during the Taliban dominancy in the valley of Swat.


Police said a gunman opened fire on a school vehicle when Yousafzai along with other students came out from the school and boarded the van.
Reports said Yousafzai suffered gunshot wound to her head and throat and was immediately shifted to Sadu Sharif hospital in critical condition.

She gained notability for championing the cause of the people of Swat by blogging for the BBC under a pseudonym "Gul Makai." In her blogs‚ she highlighted the atrocities of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan.
For her courageous and outstanding services for the promotion of peace under extremely hostile conditions‚ she was conferred the first National Peace Award by the Pakistani government on 19 December 2011.

She was also nominated for International Children's Peace Prize by Kids Rights foundation.

Malala Yousafzai injured in gun attack

Winner of the National Peace Award, Malala Yousufzai was injured along with two other women when unidentified men opened fire on a car in Swat, Express News reported Tuesday.

Yousufzai, who studies at Khushal Public School, was on her way home when the vehicle came under attack on Haji Baba Road. One of the other injured has been identified as Shazia and sources say the third was a teacher.

Yousufzai was shifted to Saidu Teaching Hospital immediately after the incident and it has been reported that she will be shifted to Peshawar.

Express News reports that she has regained consciousnesses.

As the news made rounds, hundreds of people flocked outside the hospital, willing to donate blood to Yousufzai.

Two bullets hit Yousufzai and she received wounds on her neck.

According to Express News correspondent Shireenzada, unidenfitied men approached the car in which Yousufzai was seated and asked the girls sitting with her to identify Yousufzai.

When the girls, including Yousufzai, showed reluctance in answering, the gunmen opened indiscriminate fire on her car.

The Government of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has taken a notice of the incident.

Hailing from Mingora, the 14-year-old Yousufzai struggled for restoring peace in Swat and education for girls in the region for which she was awarded the National Peace Award by former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.

When the Taliban had banned education for females in the district, she kept a diary for the British Broadcasting Corporation and wrote about the misdeeds of militants.

Yousufzai also remained a speaker for the Child Assembly in Swat, which works for child rights in the district. Later on, she was awarded the first National Peace Award by the government of Pakistan on December 19, 2011 for rendering courageous services to promote peace during the mayhem.

Bhai Jang reported that TTP accepted it. And whenever they reported in the history, we never seen any denial from TTP.

Who is brave enough in Pakistan? Who speaks against US.

Who is brave enough in Pakistan? Who speaks just against US or Taliban?

There are few brave people in Pakistan and Malala Yousafzai was one of them. Whoever speaks and act against Taliban got killed or badly injured by them. She was 11 years old when she challenged Taliban and let whole world know how brutally Taliban are killing and torturing people of SWAT.

Our so called brave politicians spend their whole time in bashing US but refrain themselves from saying a single words against Taliban. US is part of problem but these militants were here before US attack on Afghanistan and they will stay here after the end of Afghan war.

I wish any political party show some guts to arrange a long march against Taliban who are sitting and enjoying free land of Waziristan and some others part of FATA. Imran Khan and other politicians call themselves brave because they are anti US. But fact of the matter is that US never hurts anyone who speaks against them. Imran Khan and other politician visit US almost once in a month. If US is really an enemy then why our leaders visit US to collect money for charities and fund their party with US dollars.

When our top leadership will speak against Taliban? When they will take long march to Waziristan against Hakeem Masood? Drone attacks can stop within one minute if we can kick these killers out from Waziristan. I pray to god that help drone to target Hakeem Masood because our political and army leadership is useless.

If you want to live safe in Pakistan then talk against US but if you want to die then speak again Taliban. I think brave people are those who speaks against both Taliban and US because they both are killers.
