I would like to ask the president which powers is he accusing: foreign powers? I do not know of any power within a state except a foreign power that deliberately goes around destabilizing a country by financing to spread anarchy. President Asif Ali Zardari statement is nonchalant, baseless, illogical and stupid? If he meant, India wanted to limit PPP to one province then he should be wise enough to say so.

He is shooting from his hips and not from his lips. I believe that President Zardari and PPP have suffered a humiliating set back because of the Supreme Courts NRO decision and just to save its dirty corrupt face; it has resorted to cheap politics. President Zardari and PPP want to divide and rule Pakistan, and accusing a power or powers is its self delusion and deception to make another mockery on the intelligence of Pakistan's masses. But, the Pakistani awam will fight to death the political tyranny and devastation leashed upon by the corrupt and dishonest politicians, industrialists, business men, dirty rich and high officials. Pakistani masses want to see the end of their exploitation by the few dishonest and greedy, and total eradication of the weeds and the woodworm of corruption eating away our foundations. NRO is the beginning of that process. Ameen

Who are you fooling Mr President; no one but yourself and please do not make segregationist statements that could harm the country and divide Pakistan's provinces. Please do not create another environment of distrust, antagonism, dissension and deception in Pakistan which is already gripped in ominous and dangerous political disaster to happen if and your corruption riddled PPP does not mend its dishonest ways.

President Zardari and PPP are adopting the same philosophy of the British during its raj of the sub-continent: divide and rule and run away, and leave a horrible mess at the end for the locals to fight it out.

There is no doubt whatsoever that Army wants to limit his powers and moving all strings possible to achieve the objectives.
Shahbaz Sharif met Gen Kiyani only after the consent of army and AH statement that we will not let PPP play Sindh Card came after ISI chief visit to London. Rest of political forces will always go along the mainstream politics, including ANP, Fazlu (sorry can't write Moulana, Hath dard kartay hain) and other forces will go along the party which has majority in Center and PPP is highly unlikely to achieve it again in the forseeable future.

There are two three scenarios which may totally change the political system in Pakistan.

Decision from SC that AZ was not eligible to be the president, that there was a verdict in Swiss case and AZ had appealed against the decision. The verdict of 180 days sentence holds unless appeal is decided and Govt of Pakistan took the case back when verdict was there and it did not nullify the verdict. Only nullification will come if AZ wins from the appeal court, hence until that time he is disqualified.
Hope SC does not touch article 62 and 63. If this is applied, only Acakzai could become a member and we need 350+ members.

NS has been summoned from London to take a clear stance. Political heat may be turned up as he has demanded today that PM must make sure to implement SC verdict, including re-opening of cases in Switzerland.
At a boiling point PLMn may decide to come out of Center and Punjab, can anybody stop mid terms then. This is an extreme scenaio but possible.

There are a few other points but post will become boring.

Tariq:

You are right. Divide and rule is the philosophy and policy that President Zardari is pursuing to remain in power even if that would mean breaking it into mini states and becoming the president of Sindh wearing a Sindhi topee.
