Nandipur power project: MD justifies Rs36 per unit cost of generation
ISLAMABAD: The 95-megawatt (MW) first turbine of the Nandipur power plant, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif five months ago, produced electricity at Rs36 per unit and is currently shut down, admitted the managing director of the project on Thursday.
He went on to claim that the Rs36 per unit cost was affordable when compared with the loss of economic opportunities due to less availability of electricity. He said the management has requested the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) to give it Rs36 per unit cost of production on diesel.
The high cost of generation disturbs the overall cost of the fuel mix, putting additional burden on the end consumers.
“The project will be fully commissioned by January next year and the cost of power generation on furnace oil will be Rs18 per unit,” said Mehmood.
Contrary to the Rs18 per unit tariff that has been sought by Nepra for the Nandipur power plant, the Independent Power Plants are producing electricity at Rs14 to Rs16 per unit by using the furnace oil.Mehmood admitted that Rs18 per unit cost of generation was high but blamed the delay for increase in per unit cost of generation.
Mehmood said the cost will be brought down to Rs14 per unit once the imported Liquefied Natural Gas is available.

لیکن آئل کی قیمتوں میں کمی کی وجہ سے قیمیتیں اوورآل ریوائز کی گئی ہیں
آئی پی پی پیز کے لئے قیمتیوں کا چھ ماہ بعد جائزہ لیا جاسکتا ہے
جبکہ حکومت اپنے پجلی گھروں کی فی یونٹ قیمت کا جائزہ لینے کے لئے کسی بھی وقت درخواست کر سکتی ہے

ظاہر ہے جب آئل کی قیمتیں کم ہوئی ہیں تو دیگر پاور پلانٹس کے لئے بھی کم ہوئی ہونگی
ای پی پی پیز کی قیمتیں آخری دفعہ کب روایز ہوئی ہیں؟؟
یعنی آپ مانتی ہیں کہ ہر صورت میں یہ پلانٹ دیگر پاور پلانٹس کے مقابلے میں منہگی بجلی پیدا کریگا

Guys dunya news has clearly quoted that the news has been taken from Shahbaz Shareef facebook page. How can a facebook page be trusted specially when it is operated by a social media team. Authentic proof for this news to be true is from the website of PEPCO. which is unfortunately not working.

Khawaja is a pack of lies. The MD of Nandipur himself is saying that they are producing at 18 Rs /unit as mentioned in the link above.
Moreover as they mention that we will run it on gas. Which gas? There is already no gas available in the country. Are they talking about Nawaz Sharif's gas.
This is a classic case of corruption which is used only to mint money. Even after spending 100 B on this project, no one knows whether it is producing even a single Watt of electricity or not and at which cost

So where is the electricity gone with this fully operational unit because power production as per governments own data is less than last year.
