We should start discovering proper islam and learning it properly for ourselves and help others learn it properly. Islam is a deen not a mazhab. so we should leave mazhabi peshwaiyat alone because it has done no good in the past for us and it will do us no good in the future either.
We should work for islam by understanding the quran and not follow our mullahs blindly.
islam cannot be understood from translations of divine book if a translation is by a mazhabi personality. it is better to have a good dictionary to see what other meanings would convey the message of quran better. The quran is a manifesto of islam and its constitution and a law book. It is not a book for pooja paat.
take word IBAADAH it is from root AIN, BAA and DAAL. We are familiar with words ABDULLAH=servant of Allah not worshipper of Allah nor slave of Allah. Why servant of Allah and not slave or worshipper of Allah? It is because words slave and worshipper are rendering in context of mazhab not deen.
DEEN according to the quran is a way of life. islam is DEENILLAH the path appointed by Allah. The way of Allah is set by way of a road map ie the quran as its manifesto and a constitution or regulation or law book. You do not worship law you obey it ie live by it. So people who claim to be muslims are supposed to be law abiding citizens of divine kingdom=islamic state. Their society ought to be nicely set up and well regulated fulfilling needs of all its members.
So one can see how much meanings of the quranic words and verses change just by taking islam as deen instead of mazhab. Words like, adl, qist, kizb, sehr etc etc make better sense when the quran is translated in context of deen instead of mazhab.
just by learning these like basic points we can better understand quran and islam.
