Raja Jahangir Akhtar: A Hunger Strike Till Death

According to our sources in Pakistan, a local bussinessman and a lifetime activist has declared his intent to go on an indefinite hunger strike unless some of his demands about Islamabad and Pakistan are considered by the authorities. Mr. Raja, as is obvious from his press release, understands the futility of this gestures but hopes that his death will somehow mobilize the people.

India has history for hunger strike, and its works as a political gimmick ... and gandhi's satya grah bought this whole exercise to another level, but this ploy wont work here in pakistan ... in late 80's i guess AH once tried this hunger strike and though he become successful on the face of it but his demands were just excepted in front of camera and then same pakistani style... so no matter what the intention of this person may be but this can become successful only with the help of some power centre and media section other wise we see 100's of strikes even hunger one in front of press clubs ... photos get clicked ... published in newspaper and thats it .

Nobody alone can get what he is asking for, however, it takes just one person to ignite a revolution.
