Aray bhai 99% Muslims are also parrots as far as recitation is concerned...so don't worry about parrot which is meant to be like that.

It is quite sad that many Muslims are like that, parroting back verses that they don't understand. We need schools to teach more Muslims to actually understand The Arabic of the Quran and not just recite it. I remember learning to recite at a young age, it was only when I was about 16 that I stumbled across a book-with-sound-tapes that I actually started learning the Arabic. Plus, even if you just barely understand some of the words, it makes the Quran easier to memorize.
