PML-N agrees in principle to form new provinces

LAHORE: The PML-N has approved in principle the formation of new provinces on administrative basis, however any division based on ethnic and racial basis would not be accepted.

PML-N sources told Geo News reporter Irfan Nazeer that the special committee formed by PML-N President Nawaz Sharif held three meetings in the last five days. The recommendations of the committee will be sent to Islamabad for Nawaz Sharif’s approval next week.

The committee has also advised that any formation based on ethnic and racial basis would cause trouble between the provinces and that is why a package should be presented for the formation of new provinces.

The opposition has called for a meeting in the National Assembly on 11th August to present the resolution of the division of Punjab, whereas the President and Prime Minister have also hinted to the formation of a Seraiki province by 14th August.

Government of PUNJAB understood that more provinces will provide more distribution of power to the people.
Let see when the Government of Sindh will understood that more provinces will provide more distribution of power to the people.

Don't take it at its face value
There will be demand for Hazzara and division of Sindh
Nawaz Sharif has no vote bank in Sindh so he gives a damn if Sindh is devided but he gets Hazzara Back
Saraiki belt, land of Waidaras, most of them will join N league rather than PPP so no loss for N league

It will probably have zero impact on PLMn strength as so called winables who are elected from this area will lean towards Noon rahter than PPP but what are we getting into?

Can you stop Hazara from becoming another province
Can you stop division of Sindh
Can you stop Baluchistan breaking into 3 provinces

Who will pay for additional administrative setup as all CMs will want to have their own helicopter
What will happen with Water management, water distribution
Will Punjab pay royality on sea imports to Sindh and Saraiki Province

One has to plan and agree in advance for all sharing and responsibilities but Zardari just wants do whatever he thinks will damage NS before next election, it does not matter for him if Pakistan suffers as well...Ba.....

Apparently both have decided to work together.
Why they only want to divide punjab so that this way they can reduce the power of PML N.

Making/division of more provinces along linguistic lines will destroy our country.
Different solutions are there to address common people problems, like, decentralization of power structure and strengthening of local governments, more tax collection and spending at the local level instead of provincial or federal level, etc...
I am not against more provinces, if people want, let them have it, but these should not be based on hatred, ethnicity or language, rather for good governance and better administration. Why only Punjab should be didvided, why not other provinces also. Why not have a separate province for every 10 million population irrespective of language or ethnicity, just for better administration.
It looks to me PPP is playing a dirty game on South Punjab province. What's their justification for dividing Punjab but no to any division of Sindh. Similarly how come ANP is against Hazara province but all for dividing Punjab. Double standards?
Similarly Pakhtuns in Balochistan and Muhajirs in Sindh will also demand a separate province on the basis of language/ethnicity, so where it will end??

someone was telling me that america is now using same yugolavia formula on pakistan...first 18th amendement was passed and later new provinces will be made who will later declare independence from pakistani unit by simple majority...worrying this is that most of south punjb politicains have direct or indirect ties with india ,so anything can happen,,remember taaj mhmd langaah of sraikistan movement?he was funded direct by india..

That is exactly the point why PPP is targetting only punjab to create more provinces. This country is a federation of four provinces so if they want to go for new provinces then they should treat all provinces equally, if there is ethnic divide in punjab then one cannot overlook bigger ethnic divides in Balochistan, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkha. How Nawaz sharif is not punjabi when he speaks punjabi and follows punjabi culture. According to world standard of ethnicity you belong to an ethnicity if you speak the language and follow its culture and assimilate yourself in that ethnicity. To be kashmiri in punjab means a caste like jatt, gujjar, rajput, awan etc. Many people do not understand the social fabric of punjabi society in central punjab and spread BS over internet.
