It is narrated from Abu 'Inabah (radi Allahu anhu) that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه و سلم said,

When Allah wants good for His slave, He makes him pleasant. It was asked, And what makes him pleasant? He صلى الله عليه و سلم said, He opens the door of righteous deeds for him before his death, then He takes his soul in that state.

[Narrated in Musnad Ahmad, authentic according to Shaykh Al-Albani]

Lessons from the Hadith

- Al-Munawi (rahimahullah) says in Faydh al-Qadeer: "This hadeeth likens the provision of righteous deeds that Allah gives to His slaves to honey - it is good and beneficial, sweetening whatever is added to it and making whatever it mixes with better."

- A good end is a means to the pleasure of Allah. If Allah intends good for His slave, then He will give him/her a good end.

- Dying while doing good deeds is a sign of a good end.
