This was one of those rare discussion where shahid masood was to forced to be silent most of the time......:lol:, may be he was thoroughly engrossed in the heated debate, sparks flying all around. He did try to instigate zh by asking kya aapko inki bindi se iqtalaf hai?.....[hilar]

While she did make a good point here, I disagree with her whole attitude towards the war with the Soviet Union in Afghanistan...First of all, America needed to stop the Soviet Union there otherwise it would have continued expanding until it gained access to the ports and waters that could have seriously hurt American interests...America nay koi ahsaan nahin kya tha pakistan ko funding day kar, apna kaam nikala america nay...second, people from Pakistan and all over the arab world came over to Pak-Afghan area to fight the soviet union in the name of jihad willingly, If I remember correctly, Mr. Hamid was a 22 year old boy only at that time..I doubt he was mature enough to recruit 10000 youngsters to go fight with the Soviet union at that time..lol.....and I am sure the parents of those who were martyred in that war will be hurt by Marvi's statement that it was not jihad.. it was jihad and not murder as Marvi claims because it freed a few of muslim lands from under soviet occupation that were north of Afghanistan and if Soviet Union had not been stopped in Afghanistan, next on the list would have been Pakistan and dying for the safety of muslim lands in considered Jihad..

Lets see...trains whose every corner was packed with muslims who wanted to migrate with barely any luggage..and Indians waiting with their swords in the east punjab to ambush while the train passed through..doesnt sound like a lot would have been able to...or we can just discuss thousands of muslims and christians burned alive and relatively few hindu extremists killed in the riots that happened in the past few years in India..

when you guys are rejecting the ideas of zaid hamid i assume that you are with other lady's views. If it is so then it is worrying because without Islam and two nation theory there was no reason of existence of Pakistan. If there is any reason then just let me know what was the need to divide the India.

Some people might argue that we should have been together but I will say that Muslims remains suppressed during the English era that they would have been discriminated by Hindus in every field because they were not educated, they were not rich, they did were not so resourceful at that time. So this was the turning point and it had been decided that Pakistan is an ultimate need of Muslims of sub-continent and this ideas was spirit of all the movement. There was nothing other then this and if there was then I don't agree that separate country was a good idea.
