Contra:
Pakistan is nuclear power but has become worse beggar than the poorest country in Africa. Is this the price to pay for becoming US ally and a friend? Pakistan is reduced like a poor beggar: always needy, always thirsty, always hungry and always starving for some to help him and his family to feed and clothe. That is how Pakistanis are viewed internationally these days. Is there any dignity and honour to be labelled as "International beggars".
First of all we must learn to stand on our feet and stop depending on hand outs from USA, World Bank and IMF called aid, which has to be paid back but we have never been able even to pay back billion of dollars on interest alone incurred on the loans, which are always waive red because we are so deep buried in our financial liabilities. And, I blame these corrupt, greedy, dishonest politicians and generals who have been ruling us but looted our country to shreds for their personal gains and wallets. Instead of spending aid on economic development, they squandered on imported luxuries, filled their safe deposits and left the poor masses in a lurch as we witness today.

Unless and until Pakistan does not build its own heavy industry and competent and efficient agriculture sector, it will always ask for hand outs from the West and rich Arabs. We need to explore and utilize our natural resources which are in abundance in Pakistan's soil (mati) and encourage small industries at the same time. We need good economic planning for the future of Pakistan to survive as a nuclear power.
I agree with Mr Tariq that Pakistan can not live on hand outs for ever and this habit has to end.
