The mysterious sinking of the Pakistan's PNS Ghazi during the War of 1971
Two things about “The Ghazi Attack” will make your jaws drop:
First is
Its india’s first underwater war film which tries to decode the sinking of Pakistani submarine PNS Ghazi.
Second is
Its story, Very different war….. under the near Visakhapatnam sea coast.
In 1971, Pakistan navy started an offensive mission against India.
A Pakistan submarine PNS Ghazi ventured into Indian waters with the ambition of destroying INS Vikrant.
Indian Navy comes to know about it and starts a operation to keep a watch on it. For this Submarine S-21 gets appointed captained by hot headed Rann Vijay Singh (K. K. Menon).
Lt. Commander Arjun Verma ( Rana Dagubatti ) and 2nd in command Devraj (Atul Kulkarni) also joins the company. Basically Rana ko isi liye bheja tha taki wo orders ka wait kare jo Rann Vijay nahi karte.
Devraj is hard pressed to find the balance between the two.
Taapsee Pannu is the only female passenger on board and doesn’t have much importance.
1st half Ran Vijay Singh seems to be dominating and Rana seems to be nothing, but 2nd half you wil watch for Rana only.
This search operation turns into the war.
But at the end of the seat S-21 hits the rock.
—Visual effects are not very great but OK
—Its a war movie so no songs
Big props to Rana for putting his hear and might behind such an unconventional film and to director Sankalp Reddy.
Despite all the hitches this thrilling underwater war movie is worth a watch. It leaves with the awe of soldiers who lay their life for the country.
Do watch The Ghazi attack because we haven't seen anything of such kind.
If nothing else, see it to see what Rana can do he has proved himself a real khiladi.
