What is shirk (شرک کیا ہے) ??

Is there any thing wrong in it??

Ebadaat means, total submission, (2:208) humbleness, (2:45)(21:90) dependence(2:116) (11:6),

compliance of orders (4:58), performing rituals(2:110), being in “servitude” and imploring/invoking
in the state of distress and calamities,(6:63) and expectations in the hope of getting something (7:56)
and expressing thanks and gratitude for getting something.(2:152,172), (6:163) These things lead to
two strong quranic words which are “Ebadah” (Worship) and “Dua” (Invoking)”:

In the above scenario and circumstances, Allah has ordered his creatures to make
recourse towards HIM only. Shirk, therefore, will be if:

a) someone worships anyone except Allah, or with Allah;
b) someone Prays (Calls) anyone except Allah or with Allah.

Example:

A married couple do not have a child. They go to doctors, get their
Treatment, still do not get child. If they:
i) -- Pray to Allah directly that Lord give us a child, it is their Ebaadat;
ii) --- Pray to Allah with the Wasilla of someone, it is shirk;
iii) --- Pray to Baba Chan Chrigh or Giwarveen Sharif, it is shirk;

If Allah bestows them a child and if they:
a) ---Make nawafal of thanks to Almighty Allah, it is their Ebaadat;
b) ----- Distribute food etc to needy for the pleasure of Allah only it is their Ebaadat;
c) ----Go to Mazar of Giwarveen Sharif or Baba Chan Chrigah and project that
They got child due to them, it is Shirk.

Dear babadeena, please think about when a little kid is in trouble or gets hurt and need help who does he call upon? You will agree that he calls upon his mother or father etc. Is he a mushrik? There is no way you could prove your point ie evrerything is shrik no mattrer what disregarding one's beoefs and intention or purpose.

As for personnel waseelah or intercession they are in thequran very clearly.

005_035.gif
The quran uses word waseelah in 5/35. O those who have faith, be allah conscious AND seek way to him AND make effort in his way. In this verse allah is telling his abd three separate things that one needs to do beside having faith in allah. First hav eallah in one's mind, 2nd look for means of approaching him and make effort in his way.

1)Allah created this universe on basis of cause and effect and so it is based on ways and means due to which thing happen or are done. If ways and means wer shirk then why would allah use them?

2)Allah himself uses ways and means to do as he wants to do eg he sent the message by ways and means. Is allah himself a mushrik?

3)The whole of creaiuon cannot escape the ways and means they need to employ to get things done. So why would allah create things this way if it was wrong way of going about things? Would he be right in trapping us in shirk and then tell us you cannot do things this way because it is wrong yet there is no other way open to us to do anything?

4)If ways and means only mean just good works, why would he exclude these things for emphasis? ITTA QULLAH is a very comprehesive word you know?

In 17/57, we are told that godly people that kufaar worship as gods eg jesus or ezra or anyone else like hindus who worship ajmery baaba must realise that they are not gods rather they themselves seek waseela (of him) whoever of them is nearest (to Allah) AND they turn to his mercy and fear his wrath.

This verse again when transalted properly shows that even the prophets are seeking waseelah towards all allh of such of them whoever is nearer to allah than oneselves.

Another point I want to make is that beside one's own works intercession of others also works. Why would otherwise allah tells us how people including prophets prayed for others. If one own works are the only thing that takes one near to allah then all such verses in the quran become meaningless that tell us some people prayed for others. If I pray for you, this is my work not yours yet it benefits you if you so qualify. This very clearly proves the point that waseela and intercession are not shirk rather they are real islam.

Agar waseelah yaa shafaat ba nafse hi shirk hun to phir har tarha ka waseelah yaa shafaat shirk ho gi, to allah ka ham ko yeh baaten bataana sab ghalat ho ga.

Because post will get long so I will just stop here. There are plenty of waseelah and shafaat verses in the quran.

I do not mean to force you by evidences that you do these things as well but I do mean that it is better not to create unnecessary quarrels over matters that are well within the quranic teaching unless one can clearly prove some thing is wrong. Mere conjecture is not as good is clear proof.

Aisa na ho keh shirk ke fatwe aik tarf reh jaae aur logun men bila waja fasaad phel jaae. Shirk wohi hai jis ki mukamal tareef mein ne bayaan kar di hai.

regards and all the best.

[201] They are not going to believe in it until they see the painful suffering

[202] which, in their heedlessness, will come to them suddenly.

[203] Then they will ask: Can we be given some respite?

[204] Do they still wish to hurry on Our agony being forewarned?

[205] Just think! If We let them enjoy this life for many years,

[206] and then the suffering with which they are threatened falls upon them,

[207] of what avail will their past enjoyments be to them?

[208] Never have We destroyed a population to whom We did not send Warners;

[209] they
were forewarned, and We have never been unjust.

[210] This Qur’an is not brought
down by the Satans:

[211] it is neither in their interest nor in their power to produce
such a masterpiece.

[213] They are kept too far off to even hear it.

[214] So do not call
on other gods besides Allah, lest you become one of those who incur His
punishment.

[214] Admonish your close relatives

[215] and lower your wing of
kindness to those of the believers who follow you,

[216] but if they disobey, tell them:
"I am not accountable for what you do."

[217] Put your trust in the All-Mighty, the
Merciful,

[218] Who observes you when you get up

[219] and when you walk among
those who prostrate themselves in worship.

[220] He is the One Who hears all and
knows all.

[221] Shall I tell you, O people, on whom the Satans descend?

[222] They descend on
every slandering sinner,

[223] those who listen to hearsay - and most of them are
liars

[224] - and those poets who are followed by those who go astray.

[225] Do you
not see, how aimlessly they wander in every valley,

[226] preaching what they do not
practice themselves?

[227] However, an exception is made for those (poets) who
believe, do good deeds, engage much in the remembrance of Allah and defend
themselves when wronged, showing no vindictiveness. The unjust oppressors will
soon find out what vicissitudes their affairs will take.

27 MAKAH AN-NAML - ANTS 48

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.

[1] Tua Seen. These are verses of the Qur’an, the Book for enlightenment;

[2] a guide and good news for those who put their faith in it,

[3] who establish prayer and free themselves from harming others and firmly put their trust in rule of accountability in here as well as in hereafter.

[4] As for those who do not believe in accountability, We let their deeds seem fair to them, therefore they blunder about in their folly.

[5] They are the ones for whom there awaits terrible suffering in here and in the hereafter, they will be the biggest losers.

[6] And O Muhammad, most surely you are receiving this Qur’an from the One Who is wise and All-Knowing.

[7] Relate to them the story of Moses, when he said to his family: I have seen a fire;
soon I may either bring you some information from there or a lighted torch to warm
yourselves with.

[8] When he came to it, a voice called out to him: Blessed be He Who is in this fire and all around it! Glory be to Allah the Lord of the nations!

[9] O Moses, this is I, Allah, the All-Mighty, the Wise.

[10] Let go your responsibility for looking after your flock just now. When he saw his flock moving away from him like a snake, he turned back and fled without even looking back fearing it may be lost. O Moses, do not be afraid, said Allah, My Messenger need not be afraid of anything in My presence,

[11] unless, of course, he is guilty of any wrongdoing; even then, if he replaces that wrongdoing with what is good, I am indeed Forgiving, Merciful.

[12] Now pocket this responsibility of messengership as well along the others you already have, it will fit in nicely without any problem for you. With nine things from us go to Pharaoh and his people; for they are a people given to transgression.

[13] But, when our signs were shown to them, they said: This is a clear conspiracy against us.

[14] They were convinced in their minds about the truth of those signs, yet they denied those
signs in their wickedness and arrogance. So you see, what was the end of those wicked war mongering people.

[15] We bestowed knowledge on David and Solomon. They both said: Praise be to Allah
Who has exalted us above many of His believing servants.

[16] Solomon succeeded David. He said: O people! We have been made aware by Allah with information about organised management of all things that we have been given. This is indeed a great blessing from Allah.

[17] Solomon gathered a massive number of people comprised of skilled and expert workforce, ordinary workers and a fast moving armed force; they all were kept under strict discipline in order and ranks.

[18] Once in an expedition he was marching with his army when they came acrossvalley of Al Namal, seeing them one of the Namalite women said to others: O Namalites, get in to your houses lest Solomonand his army crush you by accident without knowing.

[19] Solomon smiled, laughing at her statement, and said: O Lord! Inspire me to render thanks forYour favours, which You have bestowed on me and on my parents, to do such gooddeeds that will please You; and admit me, by Your mercy, among Your righteous
servants.

[20] He brought his host to rest in a place and decided to inspect and check presence of his cavalry personnel and said: I do not see the commander of this force, where is he? Is he absent?

[21] For absence without leave I will certainly discipline him severely or even demote him if he does not offer me a reasonable excuse.

[22] The commander did not take long in coming and said: I have just found out that which you do not know. I have brought you reliable information about the people of Sheba.

[23] I found that a woman is ruling over them, she has been given everything and she possesses a magnificent throne.

[24] Further I found that she and her people prostrate themselves before the sun as their god instead of Allah. Their wicked elite has made their deeds fair-seeming to them and thus turned them away from the Right Way, so that they may not be guided

[25] to prostrate themselves before Allah, the One Who brings to light all that is hidden in
the heavens and the earth and knows exactly what you hide and what you reveal.

[26] Allah! There is no god but Him. He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.

[27] Solomon said: Soon we shall find out whether what you say is actually true or just your mistake.

[28] Goand deliver to them this letter of mine, then take a rest and wait for their answer.

[29] The Queen said: O my chiefs! A very important letter has been delivered to me;

[30] it is from Solomon, and it begins with the name of Allah, the Beneficent, theMerciful.

[31] It reads: Do not be arrogant against me and come to me in complete submission.

[32] Then she asked: O chiefs! Let me hear your advice, for I make no decision without
your counsel.

[33] They replied: We are a valiant and mighty nation. You are the commander. So we shall be waiting for your command.

[34] The queen said: When the kings invade a town, they ruin it and debase its honourable people; and thus they always do.

[35] Therefore, I shall send them a present and see with what reply my envoys will return.

[36] When the envoys of the queen came to Solomon, he said: Do you want to provide me wealth? The wealth which Allah has given me is far more than what He has given you. You may very well keep your presents.

[37] Go back to your people: if your people do not submit, we will march against them with such an army of which they shall never be able to face, and we shall drive them out of their
land humbled and disgraced.

[38] Later on when Solomon heard that the Queen of Sheba was coming in submission,
he asked: O my chiefs! Which of you can make and bring to me a throne for her like her own throne before they come to me in submission?

[39] An audacious one from the expert elite said: I will bring it to you before you set out of your court for welcoming her; and most surely I have the necessary strength and I am a trustworthy worker but I need the plan of her throne.

[40] One person who was expert in drawing technical details of things said: I can make that happen for you right away. Solomon told the drawing expert the details of her own throne and he drew it and laid it before Solomon As soon as Solomon saw the detail of throne placed before him, he exclaimed: This is by the grace of my Lord to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful. Any who is grateful, surely his gratitude is a gain for his own soul, and
any who is ungrateful should know that surely my Lord is Self-Sufficient, Self-Exalted.

[41] He then handed details to the builder of the throne and made it ready and laid it before Solomon then Solomon told his officials: Without any comment to her, set her throne in her sight; let us see whether she recognize it or she is of those who cannot recognize the Truth.

[42] So when the queen arrived, she was asked: Is your throne like this? She replied: It surely looks as if it is the same; we had come to know that Solomon is not only a king but also a Prophet, therefore we have already decided to submit to a way life that leads to peace.

[43] - Other deities whom she worshiped besides Allah had prevented her from putting her faith in Allah alone as god, for she belonged to a people who opposed having faith in guidance of Allah.

[44] - Then she was asked to enter the palace. When she saw its floor, she thought that there was pool of water, so she tucked up her skirts uncovering her legs. Solomon said. This is just a glossy paving of this palace. At this she exclaimed: O my Lord! I have indeed wronged my soul, now I submit myself in Islam with Solomon to Allah, the Lord of the nations.

[45] To the people of Thamud, We sent their brother Saleh, saying: put your faith in guidance of Allah, but they divided themselves into two discordant factions.

[46] Saleh said: O my people! Why do you hasten towards evil rather than good? Why do you not ask for grace of Allah so that you may be shown mercy?

[47] They said: We consider you and your companions a sign of bad luck. He said: Your luck is with Allah; in fact, you are a people on trial.

[48] There were nine ringleaders in the city who conspired for creating fights in the land and placed obstacles in the path of reformation and regeneration.

[49] They said to one another: Let us pledge on oath by Allah that we shall make a secret night attack on him and his family, then we shall tell his guardians and tribe that we were not even present at the time he and his family was killed, and that we are telling the truth.

[50] Thus they conspired a plan, and We too planned a plan which they did not perceive.

[51] Just see what was the outcome of their plot! We annihilated them completely, together with all their people who opposed our guidance.

[52] There lie their houses in desolate ruins as a result of their wrongdoings against each other. Verily in this story there is a lesson for those people who use their sense to understand.

[53] Yet We delivered those who placed their trust in our guidance and did for each other what was good for them.

[54] Also mention to them about people of Lot, when he said to his people: Do you carry out acts that bring shame on us as a people even though you know you are doing wrong as we have no respect amongst people of tribes and they are fast becoming our enemies and may attack us any time?

[55] Do you commit crime against men on the highway to fulfil your desires and against your women and families by leaving them in lurch and exposed to dangers and thereby your whole nation? The fact is that you are a people steeped in ignorance .

[56] But his people gave no answer except that they said: Drive out the family of Lot from your city: they pose to be very pious.

[57] So, We delivered Lot and his family except his wife - about whom We had decreed that she shall be of those who will remain behind

[58] - and We let their attackers rained down upon them a shower of brimstones, and destructive was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned about this retaliation.

[59] Say: Praise be to Allah and peace be on His servants whom He has chosen to
deliver His message. Ask them: Who is better? Allah or the deities they associate
with Him?

[60] Is not He (Allah), Who has created the heavens and the earth, sends down rain from
the heaven and with it brings forth the beautiful gardens not better than the false gods that they worship? It is not in your ability to cause the growth of trees for those gardens. Is there another god besides Allah who could do that? No doubt they are apeople who have swerved from justice in ascribing equals to Him.

[61] Just think who has made the earth a place for your residence, caused in it the valleys with rivers flowing and raised mountains in it as a way of barrier between the two seas? Is there another god besides Allah? Nay, most of them have no knowledge.

[62] Just think who answers the oppressed person when he cries out to Him and relieves his affliction, and makes you, O mankind, inheritors of the earth? Is there another god besides Allah? How little do you reflect!

[63] Just think who guides you in darkness on the land and the sea, and who sends the winds as heralds of good news of His mercy? Is there another god besides Allah? Exalted be Allah above what they associate with Him!

[64] Just think who initiated the creation and then repeats its production, and who gives you sustenance from the heavens and the earth? Is there another god besides Allah? Say: Show us your proof if you are telling the truth!

[65] Say: No one in the heavens or in the earth has the knowledge of the unseen except Allah and their make belief gods do not even know when they shall be raised to life again.

[66] Their knowledge does not grasp the Hereafter; rather they are in doubt about it; nay, they are blind concerning it!

[67] The opposers of our guidance say: What! When we and our fathers have become dust, shall wereally be raised from the dead?

[68] This promise which is made to us was also made to our forefathers before us; these are nothing but the legends of primitive people.

[69] Say: Travel through the earth and see what has been the end of those who committed crimes against each other.

[70] O Prophet, do not worry about them nor feel distressed because of their conspired plots.

[71] They also say: When will this promise of destruction in form of revolt be fulfilled if what you say be true?

[72] Say: It may be that a part of what you wish to hasten is near at hand.

[73] The fact is that your Lord is very gracious to mankind: yet most of them areungrateful.

[74] Indeed your Lord knows what their skulls conceal and what they reveal.

[75] Nor there is any secret in the heaven and the earth which is not accounted for in a clear record.

[76] In fact, this Qur’an clarifies for the Children of Israel most of those matters in which they differ.

[77] It is certainly a guide and blessing for those who put their faith in it.

[78] Surely your Lord will decide between them by His judgement, He is the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing.

[79] Therefore, put your trust in Allah, for you are certainly on the path that is right manifestly.

[80] The fact is that you cannot make the dead hear you, nor can you make the deaf hear the call especially when they turn their backs and pay no heed,

[81] nor can you guide the blind people to prevent them from straying; none will listen to you except those who learn to understand Our revelations and examine them to their satisfaction to put their faith in them.

[82] When the time to fulfil Our word comes to pass, We will bring forth from the earth a destructive creature that shall speak to them in the language they will understand, because the people did not believe in Our revelations.

Mughal1,
Your post is nothing but again a repetition of things, which I already
discussed in my posts 277, 281,284, 298 etc. etc. So round n round
u r going with Cheeko.
The question is that "Waseela" stands for:
a) good deeds like spending in the way of Allah, etc. etc. or
b) living, dead personalities, which include prophets, angels, saints, pirs, fakeers, ghaus etc. etc.
About intercession, Mine post 317 is there. That verse, although quoted, nothing to do with intercession, it was about "MUNAFQEEN" who do not wish to accept Quran. If u wish to discuss some particular verse, pleasequote.
this is your understanding of Shirk:
Dear babadeena, please think about when a little kid is in trouble or gets hurt and need help who does he call upon? You will agree that he calls upon his mother or father etc. Is he a mushrik?
I think my definition of Ebaadat, purely dependent upon Quranic verses, just fell flat on your mind?

you did not answer questions of Cheeko
about Namaz from Quran
please do answer

Bcz that is what you are doing it from start
that PROVE from Quran, prove from Quran.

So why not you did it for a simple thing Namaz.

He wont because his agenda is not to preach Islam but to hurt Islam. Thats why his own interprtations of Ayaat never heard in the last 1400 years. I have stopped answering him because he is not capable. I will join again in this topic when some najdi comes back.

FOR PEOPLE WHO KNOWINGLY OR UNKNOWINGLY COMMIT SHIRK AND PROMOTE SHIRK, WASEELA IS:

a) Invoke other people who are living, dead and past personalities;
b) Graves of those who were not doubt, pious people;
c) making nazar niaz of the dead;
d) changing the outer cloth of the Graves of those people;

========================
Mushriks and their minions will be in hell fire
irrespecive of their ebaadat and good deeds.

Another think I'd like to add, and a lot of people have been vulnerable to it, is that we must avoid labeling fellow Muslims as 'Mushriks', this is totally un-called for, since no Muslim would ever commit Shirk wittingly, and if Shirk is committed un-wittingly then it's not Shirk. Remember the Prophets's statement: "إنما الأعمال بالنيات, deeds depend on intentions", when one mistakenly commits Shirk his/her intention is obviously not involved, hence to call such a person 'Mushrik' is I believe un-fair. Furthermore, the pagan Arabs saw Shirk as means to attain Allaah Ta'aala's nearness and blessing; ما نعبدهم الا ليقربونا الى اللّه زلفى, but natural, no Muslim would hold such a belief, instead all Muslims are unanimous over it's abomination, albeit, some, maybe most of us, do commit Shirk. And there are many types of Shirk and not every type is enough to expel one from Islaam. The truth of the matter is that all of us are not safe from Shirk and Allaah statement: وما يؤمن اكثرهم باللّه الا وهم مشركون is as applicable on us as it was upon pagan Arabs. No Muslim can say 'I have never committed Shirk in my whole life', and so one should avoid blaming others.

Since we're stuck on intercession let me just briefly say that people here seem to be confused reading some ahadith which per se seems to permit asking the Prophet for intercession. They fail to realize the basic fact that such entreaty was during the lifetime of the Prophet (unless you think he's still alive), therefore, one could ask of him, the same as for instance, I asking you to intercede certain hierarch, but if someone is not present or has passed away then how is it possible for me to ask of him? It's like invoking Benazir to intercede with Gilani for employment, it simply won't work! It's a different thing however to supplicate Allaah Ta'aala via means of the Prophet's status and honor. Though not recommended, at least in this case one invokes Allaah Ta'aala directly and avoids Shirk
thereby.

So there are types of intercession, one as stated is supplicating Allaah Ta'aala by the status and dignity of the Prophet or any holy-person, which is makrooh but not shirk, and the other intercession is directly invoking the Prophet or other noble-men which is definitely Shirk and those who say it's not are serious misguided, they might read the Qur'an but they don't listen to it, they may recite it, but they don't follow it.

May Allaah Ta'aala guide us!

6osman,
Allah(SWT) has laid down criteria and drawn clear lines to define certain things. For Example Allah (SWT) has
laid down qualities of Momin, and has warned that only by saying with mouth is enough. If a person claiming to be
a believer(momin) and he fulfills that lines/criteria then he is momin, otherwise he can be anything but not momin.
similarly, Allah has define Shirk, and has narrated it in details the forms a human can adopt to commit shirk. So in
Islam, the matter is 'EITHER IT IS OR IT IS NOT", there is no in between. Once the things have been made
clear then there is no wittingly or un-wittingly concept.

Talking about Hadees and other matters you missed a few examples me told. Allah loves Last Messenger peace be upon him and if He doesnt accept any ones dua then people ask for the intercession of Last Messenger peace be upon him. So every one agrees that every thing is from Allah and worship is to Allah and Allah is one and Muhammad peace be upon him is his beloved Last Messenger. Avoid comparing issues with politicians and dont be insane.

a]
Man zara qabri wajabat lahu shafa`ati.
Whoever visits my grave, it becomes incumbent upon me to intercede for him.

Narrated by al-Daraqutni, al-Dulabi, al-Bayhaqi, Khatib al-Baghdadi, al-`Uqayli, Ibn `Adiy, Tabarani, and Ibn Khuzaymah in his Sahih, all through various chains going back to Musa ibn Hilal al-`Abdiyy from Ubayd Allah Ibn Umar, both from Nafi`, from Ibn `Umar.
Dhahabi declared this chain hasan (fair) as narrated, in "Mizan al- i`tidal," vol. 4, p. 226: "Huwa salih al-hadith" which means:"He -- Musa ibn Hilal -- is good in his narrations." Al-Sakhawi confirmed him in the "Maqasid al-hasana", while al-Subki declared it sahih according to Samhudi in Sa`adat al-drayn 1:77. Ibn `Adiyy said: "He [Musa ibn Hilal] is most likely acceptable; other people have called him 'unknown' and this is not true... He is one of the shuyukhs of Imam Ahmad and most of them are trustworthy." al-Kamil fi al-Du`afa (6:2350). Albani declared him "thabit al-riwaya" (of established reliability) in his Irwa' 4:338. About `Ubayd Allah ibn `Umar al-`Umari: - Dhahabi calls him "saduq hasan al-hadith" [truthful, of fair narrations] al-Mughni 1:348; - Sakhawi says of him "salih al-hadith" [of sound narrations] al-tuhfat al-latifat 3:366; - Ibn Mu`in said to Darimi about him: "salih thiqat" [sound and reliable] al-kamil 4:1459.

b]
Sayyiduna Uthmaan ibn Hunayf [radhiallaahu anhu] narrates that once a blind person came to Rasulullah [sallallaahu alayhi wasallam] and said, ‘Oh Rasulullah [sallallaahu alayhi wasallam]! Ask Allah to cure me.’ Rasulullah [sallallaahu alayhi wasallam] replied, ‘If you wish I will make Du’aa or else you may be patient and this is better for you.’ The man said, ‘Make Du’aa instead’, Rasulullah [sallallaahu alayhi wasallam] then commanded him to make Wudhu properly and that he recites the following Du’aa, ‘Oh Allah, verily, I ask of you and I turn to you through your prophet, the prophet of mercy, O Muhammad [sallallaahu alayhi wasallam], verily, I have turned to my Lord through you so that my need be fulfilled. Oh Allah, accept his intercession on my behalf.’ (Musnad Ahmad vol.4 pg.138; Sunan Tirmidhi; Sunan ibn Majah; Mustadrak Haakim and others). Imaams Tirmidhi, ibn Khuzaymah and Haakim have classified this Hadith as authentic. The words, ‘I turn to you through your prophet’ clearly proves Tawassul through the position of a person. Rasulullah [sallallaahu alayhi wasallam] also told him that he should make the same supplication whenever he needed to. (al-Raddul Muhkamul Mateen pg.145)
Sayyiduna Uthmaan ibn Hunayf [radhiallaahu anhu] taught this du’aa to someone after the demise of Rasulullah [sallallaahu alayhi wasallam]. That person’s need was also fulfilled.

c]
Abu Umaamah ibn Sahl ibn Hunayf [radhiallaahu anhu] reports that a person requested Sayyiduna Uthmaan ibn Affaan [radhiallaahu anhu] to fulfil his need. Sayyiduna Uthmaan [radhiallaahu anhu] did not attend to him. The person complained to Sayyiduna Uthmaan ibn Hunayf [radhiallaahu anhu] about his plight. Sayyiduna Uthmaan ibn Hunayf [radhiallaahu anhu] told him to make Wudhu, go to the Musjid, offer 2 Rakaats of Salaat and recite the following Du’aa: ‘O Allah, verily I ask you and I turn to you through our prophet, the prophet of mercy (Rasulullah – sallallaahu alayhi wasallam). O Muhammad! Verily, I have turned to our Lord through you so that He may fulfil my need.’
The person then went to Sayyiduna Uthmaan ibn Affaan [radhiallahu anhu] who then [radhiallaahu anhu] immediately fulfilled his need and told him to return whenever he had any need in the future. (al-Mu’jamus sagheer vol.1 pg.184; al-Mu’jamul Kabeer vol.9 pg.17; Dalaailun-nubuwwah of Imaam Bayhaqi vol.6 pg.167-168)
Imaam Tabrani has mentioned that this Hadith is authentic. (al-Mu’jamus sagheer vol.1 pg.184). Allamah Mahmood Zaahid Al- Kawthari has also classified the chains of Baihaqi to be Saheeh (authentic). (Maqaalatul-Kawthari pg.391). For a detailed analysis refer to al-Raddul Muhkamul Mateen of Shaykh Abdullah Siddique al-Ghumarie pgs.141-157; Raf’ul Manaarah of Shaykh Mahmood Sa’eed Mamdooh pgs.125-131

d]
Sayyiduna Anas ibn Maalik [radhiallaahu anhu] reports that when the mother of Sayyiduna Ali [radhiallahu anhu] passed away (Faatima bint Asad – radhiallaahu anha], Rasulullah [sallallaahu alayhi wasallam] made the following Du’aa before burying her: ‘O Allah, The One who gives life and death, and Who is living and will never die, forgive my mother Faatima bint Asad [radhiallaahu anha], and make her arguments known to her, i.e. make the answering of Munkar and Nakeer easy, and make her grave spacious for her. (I ask you) through the right of your prophet and all the prophet’s before me, for verily You are Most Merciful.’ (al-Mu’jamul awsat vol.1 pg.152; Hilya vol.3 pg.121)

e]
‘Bi haqqi nabiyyika’ (through the right of your prophet). This narration is classified as authentic according to the standards of Imaam ibn Hibbaan and Haakim. (Raf’ul Manaarah pg.147; Maqaalaatul Kawthari). Haafiz Ibn Hajar Al-Haytami(RA) that its chain of narrators is good.(Refer to his footnotes on Al-Manaasik of Imaam Nawawi(RA) pg.500…)

f]
When a person leaves the Musjid, the following du’aa is recorded, ‘Allaahumma inniy as-aluka bi haqqis-saa-ileena alayka, wa bi haqqi mamshaaya haaza…’. (Translation: Oh Allah, I ask you through the right of those who ask you and through the right of the act of my walking…)
In this narration, Tawassul through people is established, ‘…through the right of those who ask’ and Tawassul through one’s deeds is supported by the second part. This Hadith is recorded in Sunan ibn Maajah, Musnad Ahmad (vol.3 pg.21), Musannaf ibn Abi Shaybah and others. The following Muhadditheen have regarded it as authentic: Imaam ibn Khuzaymah (Kitaab Tawheed pg.17), Hafiz Abdul-Ghani al-Maqdisi (al-Naseehah), Hafiz Abul-Hasan al-Maqdisi – teacher of Allaamah Munzhiri (refer al-Targheeb vol.3 pg.273), Allamah al-Iraqi – Ustaadh of Hafiz ibn Hajar (Takhrijul Ihyaa), Hafiz ibn Hajar al-Asqalaani (Nataa-ijul Afkaar vol.1 pg.272), Hafiz Dimyati (Al-Matjarur-raabih). These are six great Muhadditheen that have accepted this Hadith to be authentic, hence, there remains no doubt at all concerning its acceptability.

g]
Sayyiduna Maalik al-Daar, the treasurer of food during the time of Sayyiduna Umar ibn al-Khattaab [radhiallaahu anhu], reports that once the people had been experiencing a drought in the era of Sayyiduna Umar [radhiallaahu anhu], a man went to the grave of Rasulullah [sallallaahu alayhi wasallam] and said, ‘O Rasulullah [sallallaahu alayhi wasallam], ask for rain on behalf of your Ummah, for verily, they are being destroyed.’ Thereafter this person was instructed in a dream to go to Sayyiduna Umar [radhiallaahu anhu] and tell him that, ‘the rains will soon come and say to him, Be intelligent’, When Umar [radhiallaahu anhu] was informed of this, he began to cry and he said, ‘O My Lord, I will only leave out what I am unable to do.’ (Musannaf ibn Abi Shaybah vol.12 pg.31-32; Dalaailun-nubuwwah of Imaam Bayhaqi vol.7 pg.47). Hafiz ibn Katheer [ra] has stated that the chain of narrators is ‘good and strong’ (Musnadul Faarooq vol.1 pg.223). Hafiz ibn Hajar has also indicated to its authenticity in Fathul Bari.

h]
Abul-Jawzaa – Aws ibn Abdullah [radhiallaahu anhu] reports that once, the people of Madinah were experiencing a severe drought. They complained to Sayyidatuna Aaisha [radhiallahu anha]. She advised them that they should make a hole in the tomb of the roof of Rasulullah [sallallaahu alayhi wasallam] so that the grave is exposed to the skies. He says, ‘When they made a hole, heavy rains came down and crops also began to grow.’ (Sunan Darimi vol.1 pg.56)

i]
Dawud ibn Salih says: "[The Umayyad Caliph] Marwan [ibn al-Hakam] one day saw a man placing his face on top of the grave of the Prophet . He said: "Do you know what you are doing?" When he came near him, he realized it was Abu Ayyub al-Ansari. The latter said: "Yes; I came to the Prophet , not to a stone. I heard the Prophet say:
Do not weep on religion if its people assume its leadership (walyahu), but weep on it if other than its people assume it."

Ahmad 5:422, Hakim (Mustadrak 4:515); both the latter and al-Dhahabi said it was sahih. It is thus cited by as-Subki (Shifa' as-siqam p. 126), Ibn Taymiyya (al-Muntaqa 2:261f.), and al-Haythami (al-Zawa'id 4:2).

j]
All jurists including Imami' Shafi'i' Maliki' and later-day Hanafi scholars as well as others such as the Hanbalis' are unanimous on the permissibility of supplication whether it was in the lifetime of the Prophet (s) or whether it is after his passing away.

The Abbasid caliph' Mansur al-Dawaniqi' once asked Imam Malik ibn Anas whether he should turn towards the grave of the Prophet (s) or face the Qiblah for supplication? Malik answered him: Why do you want to turn away from the Prophet (s) when he (Prophet Muhammad (s)) is the wasilah (means) for you and for your father Adam' towards Allah on the Day of Resurrection. Turn to him (the Prophet) and seek his intercession (shafa'at).

Imam of Ahl'ul Sunnah 'Ala' al-Din al-Mardawi said in his book al-Insaf fi ma'rifat al-rajih min al-khilaf 'ala madhhab al-Imam al-mubajjal Ahmad ibn Hanbal (3:456): "The correct position of the [Hanbali] madhhab is that it is permissible in one's supplication (du'a) to use as means a pious person' and it is said that it is desirable (mustahabb). Imam Ahmad said to Abu Bakr al-Marwazi:yatawassalu bi al-nabi fi du'a'ih -- "Let him use the Prophet as a means in his supplication to Allah".

Imam of Ahl ul Sunnah Ibn Hajr Haytami has repeated in many places of his book al-Sawa'iq al-muhriqa li ahl al-dalal wa al-zandaqa (eg page 180) and al-Khayrat al-hisan (p. 69): "Imam Shafi'i made tawassul through the Family of the Prophet (Ahl al-Bayt) when he said: Al al-nabi dhari'ati wa hum ilayhi wasilati arju bihim u'ta ghadan bi yadi al-yamini sahifati
The Family of the Prophet are my means and my intermediary to him. Through them I hope to be given my record with the right hand tomorrow".

n]
The pilgrim should face the shrine of the Messenger of Allah (s)' make him a means (tawassul) towards reaching God and seek his wasilah as intercession (shafa'at)' in the same manner as the Bedouin who visited the Prophet's shrine and standing beside it said: ‘Peace unto you O Messenger of Allah' I have heard Allah has said:
...Had they' when they had wronged themselves' come to you and asked Allah's forgiveness and the Apostle had asked forgiveness for them' they would certainly have found Allah Most-Propitious' Most-Merciful. (Holy Qur'an 4: 64).
Therefore' I have come to you for forgiveness of my sins and seeking your intercession with Allah.

Salam,

Babadeena, I don't know how to respond you, you seem to agree with me in that Muslims should not be considered Mushriks, but then you go on to object my apologetic. Why can't there be gray areas when Allaah Ta'aala said so: And the Hypocrites also. These were told: "Come, fight in the way of Allah, or (at least) drive (The foe from your city)." They said: "Had we known how to fight, we should certainly have followed you." They were that day nearer to Unbelief than to Faith, saying with their lips what was not in their hearts but Allah hath full knowledge of all they conceal. [Al-Qur'an, 3:167]

Allaah Ta'laa clearly states that people can and do lurk in amidst faith and disbelief, Tawheed and Shirk, wittingness and un-wittingness, something you seemed to neglect (un-wittingly I mighty add).

Salam,

Seems like Cheeko bhai is a bit bashful of talking directly one on one. But pls do read this with a bit more care and avoid relying on tracing.

Salam,

Cheeko bhai you seem to miss the boat and didn't bother reading what I said, here's a recap;

... People here seem to be confused reading some ahadith which per se seems to permit asking the Prophet for intercession. Though not recommended, at least in this case one invokes Allaah Ta'aala directly and avoids Shirk thereby.

So there are types of intercession, one as stated is supplicating Allaah Ta'aala by the status and dignity of the Prophet or any holy-person, which is makrooh but not shirk, and the other intercession is directly invoking the Prophet or other noble-men which is definitely Shirk and those who say it's not are serious misguided...

Tell me where you agree and pin point where you don't for a more construal discussion. Hope you'll pay more notice this time around and take few seconds to actually read the thing.

Salam
