Sectarianism is a shirk in Islam, but our mullahs keep preaching sectarianism to the ignorant masses who follow them blindly.

Many can recite it perfectly from memory and all are fond of using Arabic phrases however, any valuable understanding of the message is abysmal.

If by Following the only book revealed by Allah, the Quran, and not associating one with any sect, will you consider him as sectarian?

It has to do with Quran, not any individual. Islam forbids sectarianism, but sadly, the majority of Muslims follow specific sects.
