Why singer Ali Haider has left singing?

Dear friends, learning islam properly is vry important so that we could argue our points of views with proper evidences. Merely reading verses from the quran or texts from hadith books do not constitute proofs. The quran and hadith books are just information and it all depends on how we learn to represent it that makes it in to proof.

As I explained in another thread sunnah and bidah terms need to be understood in their proper context before we could say this verse of the quran or that hadith from a hadith book proves something is sunnah or bidah. If we get the definitions of terms wrong then whatever we say on any matter based on that terminology will also be wrong. It is like if you get the formula for solving a mathematical problem wrong then the question you are solving will also be wrong. If foundation is not right then whatever is built on it will also be wrong.

As for music and poetry, there are situation and circumstances in which certain things are right and certain things are wrong. A man and wife if they sing romantic songs to each other I do not see anything wrong with it. Singing and dancing is not wrong per se but depends on context. What is right for one situation may not necessarily be right for another situation.

People who bring in verses from the quran or texts from the hadith books and give verdicts without explanations to justify their stance are doing a lot more harm than good. Ummah is becoming more and more divided because of wrong treatment of the quran and the hadith. So people must become more cautious when they declare thing haraam or halaal. It is a very serious matter.

regards and all the best.

Tablighee germs have eaten all symbols of life in Pakistan....they have destroyed all signs of beauty, culture and civilisation. They destroyed our games, our music industry and gave us dry, superficial religiosity. There is no good coming from Tablighees in our society. Nothing but hollow religiosity!

Dear br. I have to admire the beautiful exposition of yours in such powerful words in a concise but effective manner. It shows how much love you have for sanity and wisdom which were used to be the hallmarks of our upright earlier generations of Muslim scholars and erudite intelligentsia. Nowadays we can only hear the hollow rhetoric of Halal Haram and Bidaa without even delving deep into those matters which require our deep understanding and thorough line of investigation.

The fact of the matter is fanaticism is a kind of mental and spiritual ailment according to my own humble assessment. Extremism of any kind is very much abhorable even in the matters of faith as there are many valid Traditions of the greatest teacher of all time SAW to corroborate about this glaring fact.

I have seen some of the individuals in my life who were exactly living the carefree and unconcerned lives and were virtually oblivious to the real objectives of their life and suddenly, or may be through a gradual process of transformation of their thoughts, at any given moment of their existence they tend to crossover from one extreme of liberality to the other extreme of religiosity. Perfectly knowing that Islam itself teaches its followers to adopt to the mode and way of moderation and try their best to engage in Mubahaat, those matters of life which are not explicitly repudiated in its canonical texts.

Fanaticism is that state of mind, according to some experts of spirituality, which obscures and inundates the major chunk of rationality and cognitive reasoning of a concerned individual. Which then later force such kind of individual to cling on to the limited set of dimensions on the said matters of religion and that opaque sort of fanatic coating on his mind thus becomes a non penetrative substance which do not allow to absorb other modes and aspects of thinking except to those aspects of religion which cling to his mind and active consciousness like the roots of a particular tree use to hold the sublunar surface of an earth.

Fanaticism distorts the beautiful meanings of many ideologies and religious ideology is one of that beautiful flowering for the dispensation of Mankind for the purpose of its guidance not to become a bigoted extremist to change the countenance of its true teachings and inability to grasp the thorough wisdom of the Divine revelation through his myopic and radical synthesis of various aspects of religion including its articles of faith as well.

You can make tons of money joining tableegi jamaat and they will issue you a certificate of an islamic scholar within days.

Ali Haider ONCE used to sing. That time is gone. You cannot pay his electricity bills or put food on his table. He will do whatever it takes for him to survive financially in Pakistan.

Selling Islam is a big business in Pakistan and it is the easiest business to get into to make instant riches.

It will only crash once everyone becomes an islamic scholar which is when it will lose its financial appeal.

That day when it comes no one knows.

That day

Dear friends, as I say every now and again each muslim group has some positive input in islam eg brelavi groups and the like eg from shia groups like people have a very good input on rules of shariah. They do not just give you verses of the quran and ahadith but explain the basic rules of law formation. Deodandies and wahabies like groups do the opposite despite the fact that deobandies claim to follow same fiqh as brelavies. Likewise when it comes to definition of kufar and shirk deobandies and wahabies like groups are the one whose explanation of things makes better sense.

Likewise tableeghi jamaat has its place and level in serving islam. The problem is not just with groups but people themselves who give more than due respect to these groups and end up dividing ummah. So long as we used our own brains and learn islam for ourselves we will see that no problem arises from differences within ummah rather each group serves islam up to a particular level. Once we give any of these group more credit than they really deserve then things get ugly.

For example, all madrassas of all groups are doing a great job in helping people know what it is in the quran, the hadith books and the fiqh books. This is how far madrassa education is very good. Rationality and real world science and the rest is not their field and to credit madrassas with that is misplacing the trust.

Likewise ulema are doing great so long as they stay within their proper limits by telling us what is rightfully withiin their range but if they over step that limit then they fall into category of mullaism.

Tableeghi jamaat is great but again within its set limits only when tableeghi goups goes out of its set limits that it becomes a problem. Helping people to know islam is a good thing and likewise making people interested in deen is good thing but then they start forcing mazhab on people and that is when things get out of control.

So the real problem with each group is trying to enforce a wrong concept of islam at some stage. Concept of proper islam one actually needs to find out for oneself others can only help with provision of information and telling rules whereby information may make better sense if put together that way. Each person has to find truth for oneself and so one has no right to condemn anyone else if one has no proof for oneself being right to begin with.

In this context one can see whether fighting over sunnah and bidah is worth it if one cannot even define the terms clearly to begin with. This fight would be therefore utter ignorance based and senseless. Anyone who claims something is sunnah or bidah has to come up with rock solid definitions of these terms otherwise one is making no sense and causing unnecessary divisions within ummah. So when any ulema reach this stage then in my view they are not ulema but a people who have lost the plot and are confused. Ulema are those people who are RAASIKHOONA FIL ILM ie people of knowledge not at all confused. By fighting over things without any clear proof, people prove they are ignorant and confused about the issue and are being stubborn. This is what causes sectarianism that people just believe anything without any proof and start condemning everyone else who do not accept their make beliefs. We therefore need to get out of this spiral if we wish to do any good for ourselves and this ummah.

So it is good idea to open up and listen to scholars of all sorts and then draw your own conclusions for yourself. Don't isolate yourselves from information and rules and formulas for putting things together, just learn to use things for your own good as well as for the good of others and you are unlikely to go wrong.

regards and all the best.

Nice post...Thanks for your apreciation.
I would like to add that, as we know, Human being is a creature subjected to conflicting forces. Part of us is materialistic and another part of us is spiritual. Now people behave in two different ways under the conflict of these two aspects.
1- Those who can attain a balanced state of equilibrium under the influence of both conflicting forces. There are great personalities in this category.
2- Those who cannot attain this balance, their temprament and disposition require to be influenced under one aspect...either this or that. They also constitute a considerable portion of humanity and there are great and famous peole in this category as well.

At the end of the day, it is our choices, values and the degree of God consciousness which matters and which reflects itself in our actions.
Allah has declared that the status of a person in His views is determined by his God consciousness (Taqwa)...No matter how well versed he or she is in intellectual skills or other deciplines.
