Why Yahya Afridi should not be accepted as a CJ.

People are taking a sigh of relief that Aminuddin somehow not sneaked in as a CJ and therefore are passively accepting Afridi to head the court. However, this appears to be a flawed logic and could potentially be quite toxic for the future of our justice system and will significantly increase the power of the Generals due to these reasons.

# Based on recent Army Amendments, chances of Aminuddin taking the helm of affairs at SC was almost zero to none.

# Based on the Amendments, Justice Mansoor or Munib would have been next in line if Afridi recuses himself from becoming CJ.

# Post of CJ will cede it's power to the upcoming head of constitutional courts.

# Accepting current set-up will open the way for drastic future amendments which will be more stringent and at the same time easier to do than the last one.

# Formation of judicial oversight committee completely tie up hands of the judges and say good bye to any semblance of independence of judiciary.

# Generals and dynastic mafia will become much more powerful if Army Amendments are not vociferously opposed.

I agree with you completely.
But still there is another way of looking at it.. What army did to shahbaz gill..and many others... ie.. putting current on their genitalia... Some of us knew army did that to "bad people" in the past.
I know one of my friend's uncle told us jokes his hawaldars made while wrapping naked cable on penis of dakoo of interior sindh.. Those stories did not alarm us then.

Now I know why in countries like US people fight so much when law enforcement step an inch outside of what they are suppose to do.
We did not. And now when army decide people of panjab and KP are also enemies..in addition to balochs.. they get the same treatment... current to penis.. and then joke about it.

The army amendments will legitimise and legalise proxy rule of corrupt manipulative and power-hungry generals, powerful mafia don families, hard-core criminals, thugs, crooks, fraudsters and looters of trillions of rupees from state coffers. These amendments are imposed to legalise brutal fascism and to crush freedom of expression, human rights, voting rights and civil liberties of patriotic Pakistanis under a steamroller.
