He it is who hath sent His apostle with the guidance and the true religion that he may make it prevail over all religions, although the associators may detest.

Dear atensari, thank you for sharing your thoughts on the matter under consideration. My view is a bit different from yours as regard Islam. It seems you are taking islam as a religion=a complete set of beliefs and a complete set of laws, whereas to me it is a way of life for people to live in this world as divine guidance in sense of necessary absolute principles and some absolute rules with examples for forming laws by way of reason. What it means is that I do not believe that there was ever any change in islam from prophet adam to prophet Muhammad. The reason for my this belief is the quran itself that tells us that islam began in time of adam and continues even today in the same shape and form. See 2/213, 3/19,83, 4/1, 6/87, 7/172, 10/19, 20/122, 21/92, 22/34, 30/30, 42/13, 49/13 etc etc.
The reason allah did not need to change anything in islam was because he based all beliefs and laws on situations and circumstances time and place wise. If the situation or the circumstance are the same then the belief or the law applicable remains the same. Even when allah talks about jews the idea remains the same see 3/50,93, 4/160, 6/146, 16/118 etc. In verses like these we are told that some foods were not liked by prophet Jacob and his children later took them for unlawful but later prophets made clear to them that they were not unlawful. Likewise some situations and circumstances arise when halaal becomes haraam and haraam becomes halaal.
The other interesting point to note is that whatever was obligatory for people of old and it is told in the quran remains obligatory for us as well if the same situation or circumstance face us as well. Likewise whatever was forbidden for earlier people in their situations under their circumstances remains forbidden for us as well in same situations under same circumstances. So islam remains the same over time. It were people who went off the track and prophets were sent to make things clear to people as regard things they disputed about. Here are some verses to show you flow of the quranic text in its own context. From this flow it is not difficult to see that only lawful is allowed and lawful is only that which is not forbidden. This means proof is only needed for proving something unlawful or not allowed. Therefore it is clear that clear proof is needed to show that female rule is forbidden in islam.

006.145 YUSUFALI: Say: "I find not in the message received by me by inspiration any (meat) forbidden to be eaten by one who wishes to eat it, unless it be dead meat, or blood poured forth, or the flesh of swine,- for it is an abomination - or, what is impious, (meat) on which a name has been invoked, other than Allah's". But (even so), if a person is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits,- thy Lord is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.
007.032 YUSUFALI: Say: Who hath forbidden the beautiful (gifts) of Allah, which He hath produced for His servants, and the things, clean and pure, (which He hath provided) for sustenance? Say: They are, in the life of this world, for those who believe, (and) purely for them on the Day of Judgment. Thus do We explain the signs in detail for those who understand.
You can also take into account5 verses that tell us about allah never changes his word himself nor can anyone else. I do not take tanseekh as changing of allah's word but in sense of their fulfilment ie once what allah tells something is going to happen and it has come to pass then that is it. Whether the fulfilment remains necessary for coming generations is upto allah to decide as a story and that is where allah has ommitted some things and did not pass them onto later books instead he added more things for later generations that are more relevant to them and that is what is made clear in 2/106 etc. This is like a child is in class one in school and then he goes to class two so he leaves behind class one books and gets class two books. There is no reason for changing information that was needed in both the classes, however to continue educational process, some stuff is left out of class two books and some new suff is added to make the class two books more relevant for the next stage. Changing my mind is is like I ask you give me your book please and then I say neevr mind.
As for iqbaal and jinnah or ulema of ummah, they are all great people and deserve our resopect however this does not mean that we accept all they say or do even if we can see that they have made some errors in their judgement of things.
This is why I have laid out the criterion for judging the truth regarding a matter. If anyone says or does something that is ok according to the set solid standard then that is accepted otherwise rejected but without any desrespect to them. Instead we should seek their forgiveness. Islam is not a personality cult rather it is clear and right way of life based upon evidences and proofs where need be.
I have explained things in detail on the following threads;

As for 9/33. It is not about going on an offensive jihad in sense of attacking infidels. The verse is repeated in 48/28 and 61/8. In this verse word DEEN means a way of life, not religion= a set of beliefs. Word HAQ=right and IZHAAR=declaration. In short allah is saying that no matter what islam will prove the right way of life against all other ways of life that people have chosen themselves ie manmade ways of life will never lead people to great life in this world and certainly not in hereafter.
So proof is there that so many ways of life have been tried by people yet all of them failed them but still they choose to ignore islam as a way of life and if anything they oppose it forcefully. How sad? This is permanent prediction that unless people live by islam they will not be successful in this life or the next. It is a challenge by almighty to all who reject his way of life.
The only way people can live without wars is by accept the way of life that leads to peace as I have explained it here very clearly. It makes perfect sense that is why I say islam is the best.
Our job is to learn proper islam propelry and spread it so that people understand it properly and that will bring us together and we can live as family and work hard to have a great life in this world in the hope of better hereafter.
regards and all the best.
