A prototype of Electronic voting machine is presented in the Ministry of Science as below,
Its a good initiative that we are moving towards electronic voting.
With machine, as per my understanding, we can easily solve the form 45 issue and counting will be no problem anymore.
But there are few suggestions to improve it,
1. It should be a stand alone system. It should not be connected with any internet or network.
2. ID Card data of each polling station can be fed into the machine with ID Card No. and machine shall be provided with the ID Card readers to scan it and verify it and issue ballot.
3. To ensure presence of voter, unremovable ink should be applied on both thumbs of the voter.
4. It would be better that ID Card readers should also be used at the entrance to the polling both and shall be checked by the Military and students on duty to ensure personal appearance for voting to add a layered security system.
We have to correct our system for voting day mechanism to increase the confidence of the people in the system.
Also there is no need for union counsel elections. Union counsel elections shall also be party based and shall be decided by the vote counts in general elections as per polling stations in the union counsel limit.
Same can be applied to senate as well by increasing the limits of NA polling stations or combining few NA areas.
Election is all hate. So election commission should introduce SOPs for election campaign. Only national leaders shall be allowed to do election campaign. Candidates should not be allowed to visit anyone's house instead party policy pamphlets only be allowed.
Hate speech of any kind shall disqualify the candidate or party from that constituency.
