it has now proved beyond a doubt that Kargil was a misadventure of 5 Generals only and the rest of Army & Air Force, Navy & Govt did not know about it.
Pak Air Force Chief was so furious that he refused to support air support to COAS Gen Musharaf because he considered this as his insult that he was never consulted
it was Nawaz's action to held these bastard Generals accountable that they did the 99 coup
Pak Army jawans fought till last bullet and preferred to die on those high mountains and their bodies were not recovered while these Generals are still enjoying Golf at home and abroad

We will never know the truth about Kargill war. If they were any serious they would form a high level commission and report would be already published and made public.
Even after 9/11 US formed a commission and report was made public.
In US, majority of US Army veterans write books and tell the truth after their retirements. But in Pakistan no one ever writes a book and tells the public about their account of what actually happened.
Perhaps everyone thinks that public is dumb and doesn't deserve to know the truth.

The generals refused to recieve the dead bodies of their own martyrs. Air Chief wanted Musharraf to be tried in court marshal. The whole thing was a political and military disaster.
If ever Pak Army brought Indian under pressure it was Kargil.
Possibly not before nor after Kargil any edge was there.
One can discuss it could had been done?
