Cyril knows who was behind those deals with North Korea and how the USA found out . He also knows that Dr. Qadeer was made a scapegoat by the army Generals once they were caught with their pants down .
NS is an idiot if he keep Cyril for this purpose. As being a politician and ex PM of country, he also knows a lot about who was behind this sordid deal and why their legs were shaky once the call from USA came .
Dr. Qadeer was a humble ,simple man with integrity. Musharraf and his clowns who were ruling at that time didn't have guts to stand up against USA and tell them as it was. He sacrificed his ego, his reputation for the sake of saving the country because the corrupt army generals wouldn't stand against USA.
I am ashamed to see the shida Tilly who was the minister of Musharraf regime and didn't have spine to stand up in favor of Dr. Qadeer at that time, is arranging Dr. Qadeer's funeral. Its a pity that a feeble cockroach Shida Tilly is still creeping in this Government.

Dawn leak was a farce from military. There was nothing wrong what was reported by Cyril. NYT has reported numerous times about White House and Pentagon meetings and no sky fell in USA. I still remember the main headline of so-called Dawn leaks.
“ Act against militants or face international isolation, Civilians tell military”.
What was wrong in it? Why military is so sensitive about reporting of their follies and blunders. They take strategic decisions at their own that have far-reaching consequences on our country and then demand that no one should criticise their blunders. Are they state within state? Many youthias on this forum and many media poodles call them state, whilst truth is that they are a department of one of the organ of the state called The Executive ( The government). Judiciary and Parliament are other two organs ( not departments) of any democratic state.

Here is the problem, Hussain . The army Generals do not like to be accountable. They never have been and the way the things are in Pakistan , they will never be .. There will always be a clash with the civilian authorities. Our constitution has some practical flaws in it. Where it gives them blank cheque and offer punishment for those who try to be transparent and have a critical view about the armed forces activities and their barging in the civilian matter.
This lacuna in Constitution has been exploited by the army generals to the core. They took maximum advantage when using this Constitutional provision to press every other Institution in Pakistan and force their way in to the domain of other institutions.
IK has found that out quickly that if he has to survive, he will have to keep these generals happy and also allow them to continue to forged in to his own civilian jurisdiction .
The debate is less about IK and NS and more about how we as Pakistanis will shape our country that no one will get blank cheque of sacred cow and allows to flaunt the constitution and its authorities.
The role of Judiciary is very disappointed. The main reason for such a disappointment in Judiciary and in Politics is that they are extremely vulnerable because of their own corruption . They can't stand against the Generals since they are compromised and their activities are questionable and against the rule of the law.
So, we can't get anyone in Pakistan who is not only not corrupt as politician but also carries balls like football to deal with these monsters in Army . Having that ability is not going to be enough either. He has to be wise, full with wisdom , a competent and a sharp ,smart person who keeps the things straight in governing Pakistan .
IK can't do that . No one else is able to have that many qualities as individua because we are all morally, financially corrupt and are "Bay Amal" people.

ZAB had the qualities that you mentioned ( non-corrupt with balls of steel) but he too couldn’t stand in front of these monsters due to compromised judiciary.
A country’s top judiciary holds the key in thwarting non-democratic forces. Justice Asif Khosa lit our hopes when he fully backed special bench to give verdict against Mush. Youthias, who considered Justice Khosa as hero on his Panama verdict, abused Justice Khosa for backing decision against Mush. Unfortunately, the government and opposition didn’t back that decision ( death penalty of Mush for breaking the constitution) and military was able to get that decision annulled from LHC. Federal government, led by coward IK, didn’t appeal LHC’s decision in SC and ,as a result, no precedence could be set against Generals. There is only one example that needs to be set. I am hopeful that Justice Esa will do much better in 2023 when he becomes CJ.

And there was another Judge who passed away in Peshawar. Who also decided against Musharraf and most recently.
The members of PTI and PMLN are not principled people. They will always be with their leadership . These parties are not really democratic parties at all. None of the political parties have practiced democracy in their files and ranks. And this is also one of the other reasons that they can't groom a real grass root leader in them .
ZAB was indeed a sharp politician who dealt with many international leaders in a very graceful manner . His meeting with Indra Ghandi , after the fall of Dhakka was also very graceful and fruitful even after the defeat of our armed forces.
