Can Imran Khan Win the 2nd Term/Next General Elections?

Being a hardcore PTI fan since 2009, I was extremely disappointed in Imran Khan during his first 2 yrs. From letting Tareen remove Asad Umar as Finance Minister to allowing Nawaz Sharif travel abroad, nothing was going his way. I can list 100 other chawlian that he did but that's for another time. But ever since COVID, I think the tides have turned. I'm hearing many goods news coming out of Pakistan which was strange as I had lost all hope after 2 yrs. I'm going to list below a few of those good news which in my opinion will shape how we progress as a nation 5/10/20 yrs down. Then i'll list some of the mistakes he's making in his governance and what should be done about it in my opinion. Being an overseas Pakistani myself, I want people living there give their honest opinions if they can sense this too and see any substantial tabdeeli on the ground coz we all know how manipulated the mainstream media is. Also feel free to disagree with my list below and tell me why so maybe I learn something new.

PTI Govt's great initiatives/Successes:
) Dams - This was much needed. Without building more dams, we were going to run out of safe quality drinking water after a decade according to some survey I read.
) Promoting made in Pakistan - Khan has appointed a special assistant named Jamshed Cheema a few months back to promote made in Pakistan brand. You can see the details in this video (
). This program is already up and running. Making products in home will be a huge economic booster in the coming years as imports will fall.
) Foreign Policy - Khan has emerged as a world leader since he became PM. Explaining Islamophobia to the Goras, Taking lead on climate change, Afghanistan issue and so on.
) Free Healthcare - KP is functional and Punjab soon
) One education stream, Kamyab Jawan, Ehsas Program, Panah Gahen, Cracking down on Land Mafia, PM Portal, NCOC for COVID, Home Mortgage and other loans for middle class, giving Kisans their fair share, the list is huge.

PTI Govt's Failures:

) Lack of Reforms - There is still so much messed up about Pakistan which needs to be fixed and reforms are not being done.
) Not highlighting their good work and only talking about opposition all day. I don't understand why all the federal ministers are obsessed with opposition. They should come in talk shows to talk about their performance and what is being done and what to expect in the near future from their ministries. Instead our talk shows are total nonsense tu chor tu daku crap.
) Bad team selection
) Corruption - Sadly corruption still exists in all Govt Institutions
) No Rule of Law for powerful people and so on
) PTI needs to fix electricity issues asap. Any country that has load shedding cannot prosper period. In the coming years majority of work will be online and having reliable power is a must if you want to compete with the world.

I think if he can improve on these failures, there is a good chance he comes back for a second term and I am getting excited about it. Because all his good initiatives now will start bearing fruits in his next term and then we would be able to grow even more as a nation. Thoughts?

Be patient my friend. For one there is no better option, and secondly he is honest, determined and steadfast. Pakistan will rise and shine.

I am IK's fan since 1976 and his supporter since he started politics. Like 99% percent of his supporters i also lost hope that he would ever become a PM but I never left his support.

Now he has a daunting task to reform a country which has been mismanaged for decades and where 90% population is illiterate.

I am also an overseas pakistani but living here in Islamabad for a few months now. Most of the people in the markets and in the streets never talk positive about IK. For them only inflation or the cost of living matters. They think that since IK became the PM, their life have become worse. They are not able to comprehend all the long term initiatives of IK.

Though situation on the ground does not seem encouraging BUT the way IK struggled for 22 years to get to the power, I will wait for 22 years for IK to deliver OR until some viable better alternative in there (which does not seem likely at least in next decade or so).

One aspect which goes in IK's favor is that with his leadership qualities he has raised the bar so high that it will never be easy for likes of the current politicians to replace him.

Another aspect is that many of the investors came to Pakistan mainly because of IK's reputation and policies and i think it must have happened based on some commitment from our establishment for the continuation of these policies.

Overseas Pakistanis voting rights is one more important factor which can easily give IK 20 to 30 additional seats.

So i believe now we only need some fruits of IK's economic policies to be passed on to common men and some good awareness campaigns for IK to make an even stronger government in the next elections.

Even in 1st 2 years, things were undertaken but couldn't be seen on the ground. After 2 years, they are now surfaced....

I think, PTI would win the next elections due to oversease votes if properly implemented because Pakistani residents can see 'development' through the eye of inflations but they don't know what it caused? Who had it caused. Commener think that govt should take loan but provide them cheap things... Obviously countries can't prosper this way... So in my thinking, overseas votes may play its role for IK's 2nd term because overseas Pakistanis don't think as the common man on street of Pakistan think.

Plus the IK's policies would bring more fruits till next elections.

About reforms: IK can't do because of very thin majority in Fed and in Punjab and due to LHC and Mafia everywhere.

Can't you see what is happening in implementing elections reforms?

PTI will win the elections in the center with a vast majority and with some allies, they will have 2/3 majority in the center. Punjab is still not decided. The establishment may let Shahbaz rule Punjab.

The way IK has steered economy and country through covid should be proof enough that he can put Pakistan right back on track .....

It is not me dear. I m all with IK and know very well what you mentioned.

But the message should be properly and adequately conveyed to the commoners.

The real problem is being faced by salaried middle class. And that has to be addressed somehow.

A week is a long time in politics. Too early to say.

But I expect PTI to be in a stronger position and PMLN to be in a weaker position. There are many events which are in play and yet to reach a conclusion. Some will benefit PTI and some will benefit PMLN.

PPP will most probably retain Sindh (perhaps with lesser margin) as (some of) our quoam still believe in ghosts.
