Imran Khan’s arrest is possibly the biggest setback for us. It will be near impossible to find someone like him, someone so consumed by his own ego, that the destruction of Pakistan was a small price to pay for his ambition.Imran Khan single-handedly almost succeeded in dismantling the establishment. He turned the population of Pakistan against the nation’s most trusted institution, the army. Why is this important? Because in Pakistan, there are no functional institutions. For all its faults, the army is the glue that holds the country together. That glue almost came unstuck on 9th May. Imran stopped CPEC. He did his best to settle TTP inside Pakistan and gave them breathing space. He did nothing when Articles 370 & 35A were being abrogated. He diplomatically isolated Pakistan. Above all, he set the stage in such a manner that the next government had to fail.India’s investment? Zero.I pray that this entire issue is resolved in Imran’s favour. We need him. He is a one man strike corps and his target is Rawalpindi.
