My question is quite simple. Quran was not revealed on tablets from heaven like the 10-commandments given to Moses (as we are told). It was and is a recited/oral revelation. Although the divine command is there for protection of revelation (hadith is also considered unrecited revelation), but the agency is human.

Those humans are the Sahaba primarily. If they fell to their own desires/pressures and corrupted the hadith, how come were they able to resist their desires/pressures to tamper the Quran.

Yeah you are forgetting one HUGE THING. That is the Prophet. The Quran was completed during his lifetime, went over it, he sanctioned and approved during his own lifetime. While at the same time Prophet and the Khulafa forbade writing of hadith.

Quran was memorized by 1000s if not 10s of 1000s of people there were copies of it. Just like today, if anyone tried to alter it, won't be too long before the corruption would be spotted.

Quran 45:6 These are God's revelations that We recite to you with truth, so in which hadith other than Allah's will they believe in.

Actually they have a point - Acquiring knowledge is difficult. You have to do a lot of research and sift through information. Hadith compilers spent their whole life do that and trying to preserve and pass on the invaluable teachings of The Prophet (saw) which is infact an exegesis of the Quran. But who wants to do it when an easier option is available. Just do whatever you like in the ibadat, read the Quran, take whatever you can and if you do not understand anything do not look elsewhere for explanation, just keep reading for barakah. Simple !!!
