Guys whatever he did was wrong but he had the guts to resign for it. I remember Sheeda Tali was our Railway minister and two trains collided. A journalist asked him that when the same thing happened in India, the Indian railway minister resigned. Would you resign too. And he replied why should I resign, I wasn't driving the trains.

Jakarta resident here. The MP resigned this afternoon, but not after squirming for days to try and avoid it.
His first excuse was that it was a link in an email (no, he couldn't remember the name of the sender or the title of the email) and he closed the window immediately once he realised it was porn. It was pointed out that there is a series of photos that clearly shows him opening a folder on his computer and selecting one of the videos listed. He watched the video for several minutes.
Then one of his PKS (Prosperous Justice Party) buddies tried the old "well, hey - we're all human and therefore fallible" line of reasoning. Nope, sorry. Not when you guys were the architects of the ridiculous Porn Law and extend no such understanding to others - notably not to Nazriel Irham (Ariel) who has been mentioned already in this thread. He was given a harsher sentence because he was a public figure. I assume the same logic will prevail in this case?
Finally, Arifinto jumped before he was pushed. But don't worry - because he resigned and wasn't fired, he's still entitled to a full state pension and medical coverage.
It's not the porn I object to (goodness knows, it's not the porn...) - it's the sheer hypocrisy of these corrupt swine.
[Edit] - Thanks go to the Belfast Telegraph for this sentence: "Indonesia, with a population of 237 million people, has more Muslims than any other country in the world." Yes. Good. If I see any other publications using the phrase "biggest Muslim country", I'm going to scream. Indonesia is not a theocracy. The constitution does refer to a belief in God, but deliberately uses the word 'ketuhanan' (deity) rather than 'Allah'. I would like to draw the attention of the Indonesian Department of Religious Affairs to this, also.
