Refusing to comment on Anjum Aqeel's matter he said that the issue has now come under purview of law. Commenting on relations with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), the minister pointed out that doors for the party would always remain open. The president has welcomed the statement of Altaf Hussain, he said adding that tension with MQM was temporary and would end soon. Chaudhry Shujaat was in talks with the party and PPP-MQM coalition is necessary for the peace of Karachi. |

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik said that the weapons seized from Karachi are Israeli made and 225 suspects have been arrested from the city, Geo News reported.
He was talking with media persons here today. The minister said that PML-N workers consider Islamabad, Faislabad and used weapons. Refusing to comment on Anjum Aqeel's matter he said that the issue has now come under purview of law.

Why are U surprised and in a state of disbelief?? Aren't U aware of the presence of Black Water (XE) in major cities of Pakistan especially in Karachi and their local operators in the form of Sunni Tehreek, MQM, ANP, and TTP??? One must differentiate between Afghan Taliban and Tehreek-e-Talibaan Pakistan (TTP). TTP is supported by CIA/RAW/Mossad to destabilize Pakistan. There is no :( or :13: in this news. ISLAMABAD: Interior minister Rehman Malik has said that Israeli-made weapons were being used by miscreants to foment unrest in Karachi.
“Over 200 persons have been arrested and Israel-made weapons, including AK-45s, have been recovered from them. This proves that a foreign hand is behind the unrest in Karachi,” he told newsmen at the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed International Airport on Sunday.
The minister said that an investigation was under way to ascertain who was supporting these elements and supplying them with weapons. He said the media would be provided access to these people to ascertain why they were killing innocent people.
Referring to the assassination of president of People’s Unity of PIA Aamir Shah in Karachi he said an inquiry was under way and the killers would soon be brought to justice. To a question, he said every murder is not an incident of target killing. Investigations in most of the cases have shown that 66 per cent of total deaths in Karachi were because of personal enmity, he added. He said the media should be cautious and careful while reporting any incident of killing in Karachi.
To a question about the arrest of PML-N MNA Anjum Aqeel, he said the Chief Justice of Pakistan had taken suo moto notice of a report published in the press that the MNA was allegedly involved in a Rs6 billion land scam in which he had the support of nine former IGs and an in-charge of the National Police Foundation. Malik said neither the government nor Malik himself had anything to do with the arrest of Anjum Aqeel. He said Anjum Aqeel was wanted by the police in a fraud case. “It is a crime to escape from police custody when there is an FIR against you,” he added.
Malik said cases were registered against the PPP leadership in the past and our leaders faced hardships and were detained in jails even for providing jobs to the poor people, but they never violated the law.
He said President Asif Ali Zardari faced detention and was tortured in jail but he never tried to flee the country. Rather, he fought for his legal rights in the courts, he added.
To another question, he said supporters of Anjum Aqeel illegally used weapons. “The police have arrested them and registered cases against them,” Malik said. In reply to a question about his party’s relations with the MQM, he said the PPP wanted friendship with MQM. “There is no issue from our side. Our doors are open for them.”
Malik said that Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain was negotiating with the MQM while President Asif Ali Zardari has also made a phone call to Altaf Bhai. He said the people would soon hear some good news: “The PPP and MQM partnership is in the interest of the country,” he said.
