With only 20 cases of COVID-19 in Islamabad and Federal Govt fully occupied in minimizing the impact of the virus in the country, the Islamabad Justice Athar Minallah direct bail of 408 under trial prisoners of which some are being held by Anti_Narcotics Force.

Talking to The Express Tribune, two senior government officials in the law department expressed serious concerns over IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah’s directives.

One of them questioned the manner in which the high court entertained the case and passed the orders without hearing all the aggrieved parties.

He also feared that a security issue might arise in the federal capital after the release of over 400 prisoners. Likewise, adverse remarks may also be passed in the next FATF review report due to the release of the people held by the
Anti-Narcotics Force.

Islamabadi Billa is insane and openly pro-crime. Many of these accused were involved and caught in peddling drugs in the city - to the schools as well. Seems Billa was unhappy for his own supplies.

As a Islamabad resident, I don’t like this move, in jail they were already in isolation,

Atleast we could put some mild of location tracker on them

This criminal is no justice. President Alvi should file a review against his decisions.
