Six months is not good enough period to judge the performance of any govt... specially in Pakistan were state of affairs were at their lowest when new govt sworn in. the performance and results should be there from the next budget year.

KPK - NAB ( National accountability buraeu )

.................Corruption and Accountability

Attempts to end political corruption

Khattak also kicked out one of his junior coalition partner and suspended a minister from his own party for committing corruption[SUP].[/SUP]
Asset Deceleration

On August 1, 2013, government of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has directed all the government employees in the province to declare their assets till August 30, 2013. K-P minister for health and provincial government spokesperson Shaukat Ali Yousafzai stated that all the secretaries of the government departments were directed to issue notices to their employees to declare assets by August 30, 2013. He added that if politicians are required to declare their financial assets to the nation the same law should also be apply on the government employees.

KPK Accountability Commission set up

PESHAWAR - The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced to establish an independent Accountability Commission aimed at eradicating corruption in the province by tightening noose around the corrupt government officials.

“This Accountability Commission will not be like the National Accountability Bureau to follow the plea bargaining procedure or give any concession,” said Shah Farman, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information, while addressing a news conference here at Press Club on Tuesday.

He said the PTI central and provincial leadership had decided to give practical shape to party manifesto by eradicating the menace of rampant corruption and “Easy Load” like illegal trend in government departments.

The minister informed that initially a ten members committee consisting of five members each from government treasury and opposition benches will be established, which after consultation will constitute a seven members search and scrutiny committee consisting of civil society members and retired government servants having good track record. “After the constitution of the special committee, work of the members of provincial assembly will be ended,” he maintained.

“The special committee will choose a Chief Accountability Commissioner and five commissioners, whom will work beyond any political influence. The age limit for the Accountability Commissioners will be from 45 to 75, whom will enjoy full powers to take action against any government official or political worker for financial irregularities, embezzlements or unnecessary delay in developmental projects or funds, corruption in recruitments or any sort of irregularities,” Shah Farman said and added the arrested accused would be presented before the accountability courts.

“The accused will not be having any plea bargain opportunity,” the Minister said. The minister also said that certain corrupt government officials and political opponents spreading negative propaganda against PTI-led provincial government, want to disappoint masses but they should know that they will never be succeeded in their aim.

To a query about the establishment of an independent Accountability Commission, the minister said that need for the commission was felt, because the transfer and posting authority of the officials in anti-corruption and other accountability commissions were came under the chief minister jurisdiction and this commission will work beyond any political influence.

ACHIEVEMENT OF REVENUE COLLECTION
1503924_273818316103371_1815631535_n.png

ISLAMABAD: As provinces are finding it difficult to achieve the revenue collection target set in 2010, the National Finance Commission (NFC) has warned that it would be impossible to achieve the 15pc tax-to-GDP ratio in the terminal year of the award (2014-15), if the provinces continue with the same trend.

These provinces remain far behind in their quest for achieving the target set by the NFC of 15pc tax-to-GDP ratio. The report was submitted by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar to the just-concluded sessions of Senate and the National Assembly this month.

Against the proposed target of 42.14pc of tax-to-GDP ratio, Punjab was able to gain 30.2pc; Sindh’s revenue growth was minus 17.4pc against the target of 36.44pc and Balochistan recorded minus 5.0pc growth against the target of 1.03pc.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa was, however, able to achieve 5.9pc growth against the recommended tax-to-GDP growth of 3.94pc, a target projected for the same period.

News paper add with Tax Payers money and KPK Government approach.

What people of KPK are noticing in their daily life.

1- The KPK cabinets’ decision not to name public places, projects after individuals has given hope to many that they are on the right path.
2- Advertisements regarding projects of public interests get published without the pictures of the elected representatives of KPK, or the Chairman of PTI, Imran Khan
3- All appointments in various departments have been made conditional to qualifying NTS test,

Quote

The KPK cabinets’ decision not to name public places, projects after individuals has given hope to many that they are on the right path. Political parties have a tendency to name public places after the names of their political figures. Coming across name such as Jillani Park and other names that did not go down well in our recent past, gives rise to the thought that they do not deserve to be remembered by the common man.
Banning this abominable trend, the PTI-KPK government has done a commendable job. It is pleasing that nowadays advertisements regarding projects of public interests get published without the pictures of the elected representatives of KPK, or the Chairman of PTI, Imran Khan. All appointments in various departments have been made conditional to qualifying NTS test, and academic performance from Matriculation to onwards stages of education. Well done PTI-KP. Hopefully, after completion of their term in KPK they would have done a unique and matchless work and contributed to the promotion, and development of KP in various public and private sectors.

PTI expels QWP from KPK coalition over ‘corruption’

PESHAWAR - The PTI-led Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government Wednesday ended its coalition with the QWP after Chief Minister Pervez Khattak suspended two provincial ministers from the junior partner for alleged involvement in corrupt practices and poor performance.

The ouster of Malik Ibrar Hussain Khan and Bakht Bedar was followed by a strong-worded advisory by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan to CM Khattak to end partnership with Aftab Sherpao’s Qaumi Watan Party (QWP). The chief minister also removed another minister – Yousaf Ayub – from his own PTI after he was disqualified by the Supreme Court in fake degree case the same day.

In a tweet, Imran said he had “asked KP CM to pull out of coalition with QWP”. QWP, he said, was given two “warnings about corruption” of two of their ministers but to no avail. Instead of rectification the QWP showed its displeasure at pointing out of their corruption by boycotting the provincial cabinet meetings, he added.

In the statement, Imran added that PTI was elected on a mandate against corruption and has zero tolerance for any form of corruption. Imran praised ministers from Jamaat-e-Islami, the major coalition partner of PTI in KP. “Our JI ministers have proven exemplary in this regard and we respect them for their commitment towards anti-corruption.”

The QWP provincial chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao resigned as senior minister minutes after the PTI’s announcement to end the partnership with QWP. Reacting over the PTI’s decision, he said that whoever had any evidence of the wrongdoing should share it with his party. “We have been clear since day one that we will not tolerate corruption as we believe in transparency and good governance,” he maintained.

Sikandar said that QWP had joined the PTI government to highlight and resolve the problems being faced by Pakhtuns. He said he would address a press conference today (Thursday) in which he would tell the “whole truth” to the nation and would expose those who are actually doing corruption in KP government. He alleged the directives being issued from “Bani Gala” are based on anti-Pakhtun policies.

Top leadership of QWP has called a special meeting of its core committee today to finalise future strategy of the party. Sources said that that before taking action, the PTI’s top brass had not only warned the corrupt ministers but also asked CM Khattak to investigate corruption allegation against the cabinet ministers. The sources said that the CM has completed the investigations and found at least 11 ministers guilty of corruption, but action against only three of them has been taken yet.

The ousted QWP minister Mr Bakht Bedar held the portfolio of labour and manpower while Abrar Hussain was provincial minister for forests. Bakht Bedar was reported to be outrightly rejecting the allegations against him. He claimed that there was no evidence against him and asked the PTI to present proof, if any. Ibrar Hussian too has rejected the allegations and said he would knock the doors of the courts over the matter. He said that he would soon expose those who were actually involved in corruption.

Political observers say that PTI has taken a significant first step by severing relations with a coalition partner over corruption issue. However, they said that similar action should also be taken against other ministers from PTI and other parties who are involved in corruption. Interestingly the PTI chief also hinted at an alliance with the PPP in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, despite opposition from his party.

PTI’s Yousuf Ayub, who was also removed from his post, was minister for communication and works. The Election Tribunal earlier had declared Yousuf ineligible over his fake degree. He then filed a plea in the SC against the decision but the apex court upheld the verdict of the tribunal. Yousuf was elected an MPA from PK-50 Haripur-II.

PESHAWAR MASS TRANSIT

1497447_544350598995127_1157034232_n.jpg

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has put off mega projects in the provincial capital till the completion of the feasibility of the Mass Transit System (MTS) launched by the Cities Development Initiative for Asia (CDIA) of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).The MTS would be a combination of Mono Rail or Sky-Train and Bust Rapid Transit (BRT).They have mobilised their International Team Leader Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) for Mass Transit Peshawar, Peter Turner. He had experience of working on Public Transport Systems for the last 30 years in South East Asia and South Asia.

The provincial government has purposefully delayed all new projects of road extension, flyovers, underpasses and overhead pedestrian bridges till the Detailed Engineering Design (DED) of the MTS.The government had to delay other projects as the MTS might cut through many of these projects, which again would have to be redone hence resulting in wastage of resources and time

Route

  • Haji Camp Station
  • Hastnagari Station

Which will be initially constructed on one red line having length of 18.4 kilometer from Chamkani to Hayatabad area of Peshawar. It will use fully automated trains on grade-separated tracks, running mostly on elevated guide ways, which gives passengers views across the city and helps SkyTrain to hold consistently high (over 95%) on-time reliability.Peshawar, is the capital of northern Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the administrative center and central economic hub for theFederally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan.
