Aakaf saeed sb ko islam=mahzab se nikalna hoga, he is following foots steps of his father, which to some degree was ok for his father but is totally wrong for him. Reason because at that time most people were uneducated and to explain to them concept of deen would have produced same reaction as it happen to sir seyyed and parwez. The reason is because most muslims were far more superstitious in those days than today. It is because of hard work of sir seyyed, iqbal amd parwez that concept of islam=deen began to gain strength. Had mawdoodi sb realised this and not opposed this movement things could have been very different. But modoodi sb did raise stake by being far more critical of mazbiyyat the while he remained with it.
Thus a spectrum or range of change in muslim minds is very clear in form of shia groups, brelvi groups, deobandi groups, wahabi groups to parwezies to quranites. The real leaders in changing minds were always those who rationalised islam more and more, which reduced superstition more and more. Once people have education and realise the quran for what it is ie a rational book all sectarian groups will disappear. There are a lot more people today questioning their beliefs and actions than there were ever before. If this trend continues islam is going to be expanding accordingly amongst educated people through out the world.
The good thing is that these people who spoke on this platform accepted each others views without opposing each other. This shows that we can work together as a people with little bit patience.
May be outside pressures and inside pressure is trying to work in our favour to make us realise things that we never realised before.
