This film was deliberately made to incite and anger people.

Cheap publicity and attention by a Christian fundamentalist in USA posing to be an "Israeli-American Jew". Certain mobs reacted angrily to it, US Ambassador to Libya gets shot dead, mission of getting more cheap publicity accomplished.

Muhammad-Film Consultant: 'Sam Bacile' Is Not Israeli, and Not a Real Name

By Jeffrey Goldberg

Sep 12 2012, 1:37 PM ET

Revelations about the alleged producer of the now-infamous trailer for "The Innocence of Muslims."

As part of my search for more information about Sam Bacile, the alleged producer of the now-infamous anti-Muhammad film trailer "The Innocence of Muslims," I just called a man named Steve Klein -- a self-described militant Christian activist in Riverside, California (whose actual business, he said, is in selling "hard-to-place home insurance"), who has been described in multiple media accounts as a consultant to the film.

Klein told me that Bacile, the producer of the film, is not Israeli, and most likely not Jewish, as has been reported, and that the name is, in fact, a pseudonym.

He said he did not know "Bacile"'s real name. He said Bacile contacted him because he leads anti-Islam protests outside of mosques and schools, and because, he said, he is a Vietnam veteran and an expert on uncovering al Qaeda cells in California.

"After 9/11 I went out to look for terror cells in California and found them, piece of cake. Sam found out about me. The Middle East Christian and Jewish communities trust me."

He said the man who identified himself as Bacile asked him to help make the anti-Muhammad film. When I asked him to describe Bacile, he said: "I don't know that much about him. I met him, I spoke to him for an hour. He's not Israeli, no. I can tell you this for sure, the State of Israel is not involved, Terry Jones (the radical Christian Quran-burning pastor) is not involved. His name is a pseudonym. All these Middle Eastern folks I work with have pseudonyms. I doubt he's Jewish. I would suspect this is a disinformation campaign."

I asked him who he thought Sam Bacile was. He said that there are about 15 people associated with the making of the film, "Nobody is anything but an active American citizen. They're from Syria, Turkey, Pakistan, they're some that are from Egypt. Some are Copts but the vast majority are Evangelical."

What are we to make of Steve Klein's assertions? I'm taking everything about this strange and horrible episod with a grain of salt, though I will say that I haven't seen any proof yet that Sam Bacile is an actual Israeli Jew, or that the name is anything other than a pseudonym. More to come, undoubtedly.

UPDATE: Here's a link to a story about Klein's anti-Islam protests.

many western writers have criticised the movie's nonsense content, but they have also criticised how easily certain Muslims get so easily riled up to violence on someone else's stupid provocations

The tragic consulate killings in Libya and America's hierarchy of human life

The murder of American staff over a hate film is an unmitigated wrong. But so are deaths caused by the US that go unremarked

[Updated below - Update II]

Protesters attacked the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya on Tuesday night and killed four Americans, including the US ambassador, Chris Stevens. The attacks were triggered by rage over an amateurish and deeply hateful film about Islam that depicted the Prophet Muhammad as, among other things, a child molester advocate, a bloodthirsty goon, a bumbling idiot, and a promiscuous, philandering leech. A 13-minute trailer was uploaded to YouTube and then quickly circulated in the Muslim world, sparking widespread anger (the US embassy in Cairo was also attacked).

The anti-Islam film was written, directed and produced by an Israeli real estate developer living in California, Sam Bacile. He claimed, in an interview with Haaretz, that the film "cost $5m to make and was financed with the help of more than 100 Jewish donors". Its purpose, as described by the Israeli newspaper, was to show that "Islam is a cancer" and to provide a "provocative political statement condemning the religion". It's hard to believe that the film which is barely at the level of a poorly rehearsed high-school play required $5m to make, but the intent seems clear: to provoke Muslims into exactly the sort of violent rage that we are now witnessing.

Events like this one are difficult to write about when they first happen because the raw emotion they produce often makes rational discussion impossible. A script quickly emerges from which All Decent People must recite, and any deviations are quickly detected and denounced. But given the magnitude of this event and the important points it raises, it is nonetheless worthwhile to examine it:

1)
The deaths of Ambassador Stevens, a former Peace Corps volunteer and a dedicated Arabic-speaking career diplomat, and the other three American staff, are both a tragedy and a senseless outrage. Indiscriminately murdering people over a film, no matter how offensive it is, is an unmitigated wrong. The blame lies fully and completely with those who committed these murders.

2)
Sam Bacile and his cowardly anonymous donors are repellent cretins for producing this bottom-feeding, bigoted, hateful "film" that has no apparent purpose but to spread anti-Islamic hatred and provoke violent reactions. But just as was true of the Qur'an burnings by Pastor Terry Jones (who, unsurprisingly, has a prominent role in promoting this film), or the Danish Muhammad cartoons before that, it is and it should be an absolute, unfettered free speech right to produce films no matter how offensive their content might be.

The US has steadily eroded free speech rights in the name of fighting terrorism by criminalizing pure political speech it deems dangerous and prosecuting Muslims who express those prohibited ideas. Attempts to constrain the rights of individuals to produce anti-Muslim films like the trash produced by Bacile and friends are just as dangerous and wrong as all other efforts to constrain free speech. Free speech is a vital liberty arguably, the central one and what it means, at its core, is that the right to express even the most repellent and inflammatory ideas is just as inviolable as the right to express inoffensive or conventional ones.

3)
It is hard not to notice, and be disturbed by, the vastly different reactions whenever innocent Americans are killed, as opposed to when Americans are doing the killing of innocents. All the rage and denunciations of these murders in Benghazi are fully justified, but one wishes that even a fraction of that rage would be expressed when the US kills innocent men, women and children in the Muslim world, as it frequently does. Typically, though, those deaths are ignored, or at best justified with amoral bureaucratic phrases ("collateral damage") or self-justifying cliches ("war is hell"), which Americans have been trained to recite.

It is understandable that the senseless killing of an ambassador is bigger news than the senseless killing of an unknown, obscure Yemeni or Pakistani child. But it's anything but understandable to regard the former as more tragic than the latter. Yet there's no denying that the same people today most vocally condemning the Benghazi killings are quick and eager to find justification when the killing of innocents is done by their government, rather than aimed at it.

It's as though there are two types of crimes: killing, and then the killing of Americans. The way in which that latter phrase is so often invoked, with such intensity, emotion and scorn, reveals that it is viewed as the supreme crime: this is not just the tragic deaths of individuals, but a blow against the Empire; it therefore sparks particular offense. It is redolent of those in conquered lands being told they will be severely punished because they have raised their hand against a citizen of Rome.

Just compare the way in which the deaths of Americans on 9/11, even more than a decade later, are commemorated with borderline religious solemnity, as opposed to the deaths of the hundreds of thousands of foreign Muslims caused by the US, which are barely ever acknowledged. There is a clear hierarchy of human life being constantly reinforced by this mentality, and it is deeply consequential.

This is a vital process for enabling and justifying endless aggression. It is a way of dehumanizing those who are killed by the US while venerating American lives above all others. As the media watchdog group Media Lens put it today:
"A crucial task is to perceive how our compassion is channeled towards some and away from others. It's the foundation of all mass violence."

The death of Ambassador Stevens and the three Americans who died with him is as tragic as the constant killing of innocent people by the US, but not more so.

4)
The two political parties in the US wasted no time in displaying their vulgar attributes by rushing to squeeze these events for political gain. Democratic partisans immediately announced that "exploiting US deaths" by which they mean criticizing President Obama "is ugly, unwise".

That standard is as ludicrous as it is hypocritical. Democrats routinely "exploited US deaths" in Iraq, Afghanistan, and from 9/11 in order to attack President Bush and the Republican party, and they were perfectly within their rights to do so. When bad things happen involving US foreign policy, it is perfectly legitimate to speak out against the president and to identify his actions or inaction that one believes are to blame for those outcomes.

These are political events, and they are inherently and necessarily "politicized".

It's one thing to object to specific criticisms of Obama here as illegitimate and ugly, as some of those criticisms undoubtedly were (see below). But trying to impose some sort of general prohibition on criticizing Obama on the ground that Americans have died and this is a crisis smacks of the worst debate-suppressing tactics of the GOP circa 2003. (To his credit, one of the Democrats making those claims today subsequently acknowledged his error and wrote: "Obviously there's nothing wrong with criticizing the president, even during a crisis.")

But in this case, what the GOP and Mitt Romney did is substantially worse. As the attacks unfolded, Romney quickly issued a statement, based on the response of the US embassy in Egypt, accusing Obama of "sympathiz[ing] with those who waged the attacks" (the Obama White House repudiated the statement from the embassy in Cairo). The chairman of the GOP, Reince Preibus, unloaded on the world this disgusting tweet: "Obama sympathizes with attackers in Egypt. Sad and pathetic".

These accusations were all pure fiction and self-evidently ugly; they prompted incredulous condemnations even from media figures who pride themselves on their own neutrality.

But this is the story of the GOP. Faced with a president whose record is inept and horrible in many key respects, they somehow find a way to be even more inept and horrible themselves. Here, they had a real political opportunity to attack Obama if US diplomats are killed and embassies stormed, it makes the president appear weak and ineffectual but they are so drowning in their own blinding extremism and hate-driven bile, so wedded to their tired and moronic political attacks (unpatriotic Democrats love America's Muslim enemies!), that they cannot avoid instantly self-destructing. Within a matter of hours, they managed to turn a politically dangerous situation for Obama into yet more evidence of their unhinged, undisciplined radicalism.

5)
Drawing conclusions about Libya, and the US intervention there, from this situation would be unfair and far too premature. This does, however, highlight the rampant violence, lawlessness, militia thuggery, and general instability that has plagued that country since Gadaffi's removal from power.

Moreover, given all the questions, largely ignored, about who it was exactly whom the US was arming and empowering in that country during the intervention, and what the unexpected consequences of doing that might be, it is vital to know how the attackers came into possession of rocket-propelled grenades and other heavy weaponry.

This event also serves as a crucial reminder, yet again, that merely removing a heinous dictator is not proof that the intervention was successful, just or worthwhile. To assess that question, one must know what will follow in that country, for its people, once the intervening powers have removed the government. Declarations of victory and vindication over the intervention in Libya have always been premature, self-serving and baseless precisely because that crucial fact is yet unknown. We can only hope that Tuesday's events do not presage a depressing answer to that question.

In sum, one should by all means condemn and mourn the tragic deaths of these Americans in Benghazi. But the deaths would not be in vain if they caused us to pause and reflect much more than we normally do on the impact of the deaths of innocents which America itself routinely causes.

UPDATE
: There are two developments in this story which, though they do not affect any of the observations I made, should be noted as they are at odds with some of the earlier reports: (1) although the Haaretz report was (and remains) quite definitive that the filmmaker is an Israeli named Sam Bacile, doubts have now been raised about the identity of the actual filmmaker, and (2) an anonymous US official claims that the attack was preplanned to coincide with 9/11, and the attackers exploited the protests over the film as a diversion. Neither of those claims is proven.

UPDATE II
: AP does further work investigating the identity of "Sam Bacile", and traces the genesis of the film to a Coptic Christian, Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, living in California. Also note that, contrary to what I indicated the above, the article in Haaretz I referenced which featured the interview with "Sam Bacile" was actually an Associated Press article that Haaretz carried.

This is called MEDIA WAR FARE -- welcome to 21 Century "Western Illusion"

Information was spread like a fire throughout the world, but in Pakistan this information is totally blacked out, reason is not to provoke Sincere Muslims in Pakistan otherwise it will be hard for US to counter it.

So all the world has seen the movie before the protest was launched here. In response of this movie on US Ambassodor was murdered (not according to Islam but in frustration people did it).

Reason is Islam is insulted throughout the world and all kuffar from Israel to US made a big fun of it as ($5million were sponsored by Israel Jew Group for this movie). US government allowed to be screened and launched in US and hence the director of Movie is planning to launch another 200 series of this Blashemy Movie.

Now if we remain quite and let the world do there dirty job against Islam is not WISE my Brother.

To stop this we need PEACEFUL protest. For protest we have to show the world that don't make fun of others religions throughout the world, Whether its christianity, Islam or any other religion.

If you are not going to aware yourself and unable to tackle this situation, then brother get ready for bombardment of Blasphemy Material from west to east. These type of culprits are forced to stop by Muslim only when Muslims show restrain otherwise they will act like AWARA ****** and spread there disease through out the world.

True. US Ambassador according to teachings of Islam should not be killed.

But why you got to much anger against just an individual death. Why you can't see the millions death in Iraq/Afghan/Burma/Gugrat/Chichniya wars/conflicts where everyday 100 of people ( "MUSLIMS" ) die and still not even a single condemn statement, NOT in polite manner.

but for

US Ambassador died anger at its PEAK. Death of US Ambassador is Wrong, we Muslim condemn it but who is going to condemn Muslims Deaths.

But brother also think of Muslims who die because of carpet bombing, drones, Dr. Aafia Siddiqui and list goes on on daily basis for last 100 years and so.

Why is this that if a Muslim killed/murdered in wars/dies then its alright its a daily phenomena.

But

If US citizen dies than "Man. Its a hell in this world". A Mr. White Human died. sad with anger. WHY?

‘It Makes Me Sick’: Actress in Muhammed Movie Says She Was Deceived, Had No Idea It Was About Islam

avt-small.jpg
Adrian Chen
The story of the Muhammed movie which sparked deadly protests in Libya and Egypt gets weirder. The actors who appeared in it had no idea they were starring in anti-Islam propaganda which depicts Muhammed as a child molester and thug. They were deceived by the film's director, believing they were appearing in a film about the life of a generic Egyptian 2,000 years ago.
Cindy Lee Garcia, an actress from Bakersfield, Calif., has a small role in the Muhammed movie as a woman whose young daughter is given to Muhammed to marry. But in a phone interview this afternoon, Garcia told us she had no idea she was participating in an offensive spoof on the life of Muhammed when she answered a casting call through an agency last summer and got the part.
The script she was given was titled simply Desert Warriors.
"It was going to be a film based on how things were 2,000 years ago," Garcia said. "It wasn't based on anything to do with religion, it was just on how things were run in Egypt. There wasn't anything about Muhammed or Muslims or anything."
In the script and during the shooting, nothing indicated the controversial nature of the final product, now called Muslim Innocence. Muhammed wasn't even called Muhammed; he was "Master George," Garcia said. The word "Muhammed" was dubbed over in post-production, as were essentially all other offensive references to Islam and Muhammed.
For example, at 9:03 in the trailer, Garcia berates her husband, who wants to send their daughter to Muhammed: "Is your Muhammed a child molester?" she says in the final product. But the words are dubbed over what she actually said. The line in the script—and the line Garcia gave during filming—was, "is your God a child molester," Garcia told us today.
Garcia was horrified when she saw the end product, and when protesters in Libya killed four U.S. Embassy employees.
"I had nothing to do really with anything," she said today. "Now we have people dead because of a movie I was in. It makes me sick."
According to Garica, her three days on set last July were unremarkable. The film's mysterious pseudonymous writer and director, "Sam Bacile," has claimed to be an Israeli real estate mogul. But Garcia said Bacile told her he was Egyptian on set. Bacile had white hair and spoke Arabic to a number of "dark-skinned" men who hung around the set, she said. (A Bacile associate also told The Atlantic he wasn't Israeli or Jewish.)
"He was just really mellow. He was just sitting there and he wanted certain points to be made."
Once, Garcia said, Bacile wanted a girl that "Master George" (aka Muhammed) was to sleep with to look seven years old, instead of 10, to heighten the outrage. But his Assistant Directors protested, saying that was too young.
After the protests erupted and Bacile appeared in the media, Garcia called him up today to express her outrage at his deception.
"I called Sam and said, 'Why did you do this?' and he said, 'I'm tired of radical Islamists killing each other. Let other actors know it's not their fault.'"
Garcia isn't satisfied simply knowing it wasn't her fault.
"I'm going to sue his butt off."

Mr. Jerry Brown:

The answer is the foundation of Pakistan. Pakistan was founded on this simple statement but its power are unlimited.

LA ILA HA, ILLAL LA HO, MOHAMMAD-UR RASOOL ALLAH

Meaning: There is no god but Allah, Mohammad is his Last Messenger/Prophet.

pbuh

So the foundation is Islam then walls and everything on it will represent Islam and will become Fortress of Islam at the end of the day, but unfortunately construction is still going on with bits of ups and downs but inshaAllah it will be completed Soon. You will see Fortress of Islam soon.

You are most welcome to live in here, if don't want to come its your choice we wont force you you can leave.

As we need Fortress to be completed and its occupants should be true defenders Islam.

lolz.
I repeat my statement my friend: Death of US Ambassador is Wrong,

Now Jahiliyyah aspects:
American are killing Muslims who are innocent = ok ----> Now what should we do. Become Jahil and start killing innocent US. No. Who told you this logic which just came up into your mind.

Killing Innocent human (whether he/she is Muslim or not) is HARAM ---------- big -------- HARAM.

But defending and fighting back is FARZ -----big-----FARZ . Once your lands are occupied and so forth.

9/11 bad act of any human who ever did it. HARAM.

But IRAQ/AFGHAN/PAK war are also HARAM-------INVASION.

Please don't be Offended but I have to put the example:

If your home is attacked by mobs of thieves and they break in and tourcher your father, kill your mother, rape your rest of the family what will you do in reaction --- fight back to stop cruel/oppressed act.

Now change following elements in above two lines:
Home = Iraq/Afghan
mobs of thieves = Cruel Invasion Army
your famliy (father/mohter/sister/brother/wife) = Resources like oil, minerals, geographic location.

Now construct above two lines again with new elements:

If Iraq/Afghan is attacked by Cruel Army (enemy of state) and they destroy everything and holds on resources (oil etc) with power, than what will you do in reaction as a Muslim ---- Fight back to stop cruel Invading Army.

But no body is saying to harm innocent people. ITS HARAM because Islam got rules about WAR also, but Western Ideology got no rules whats o ever

Sheikhspear said: Every this is allowed in Love and War. (Jahilliya)

Islam said: In the boundary of Islam Love and War is allowed, but crossing boundaries is against Islam. (Civilized)

Totally two opposite thinking.

USA, California man confirms role in anti-Islam film
By GILLIAN FLACCUS, Associated Press – 48 minutes ago
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The anti-Muslim film implicated in mob protests against U.S. diplomatic missions in the Mideast received logistical help from a man once convicted of financial crimes and featured actors who complained that their inflammatory dialogue was dubbed in after filming.
The self-proclaimed director of Blasphemy Movie initially claimed a Jewish and Israeli background. But others involved in the film said his statements were contrived as evidence mounted that the film's key player was a southern Californian Coptic Christian with a checkered past.
Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, 55, told The Associated Press in an interview outside Los Angeles Wednesday that he managed logistics for the company that produced "Blasphemy movie" which mocked Muslims and the prophet Muhammadpbuh.
The movie has been blamed for inflaming mobs that attacked U.S. missions in Egypt and Libya this week as well as U.S. Embassy in Yemen on Thursday.

Re: Coptic Christian (California) Man confirms role in production of anti-Islam film blamed for protests. His Picture.

Actress says was duped, as anti-Islam film details emerge

(Reuters) / 13 September 2012

The origins of a crudely made anti-Muslim movie that sparked violent protests in Egypt and Libya began to slowly emerge on Wednesday, with an actress in the California production saying she was duped and was unaware it was about the Prophet.Cindy Lee Garcia of Bakersfield, California, who appears briefly in clips of the film posted online, said she answered a casting call last year to appear in a movie titled ‘Desert Warrior.’
‘It looks so unreal to me, it’s like nothing that we even filmed was there. There was all this weird stuff there,’ Garcia told Reuters in a phone interview.
Clips of the movie, posted on YouTube under several titles including ‘Innocence of Muslims,’ portrayed the Muslim prophet engaged in crude and offensive behavior. Many Muslims consider any depiction of the prophet as blasphemous.
Clips had been posted online for weeks before apparently triggering violent demonstrations on Tuesday at the US embassy in Cairo and consulate in Benghazi, Libya, in which US Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were killed.
The Americans died after gunmen attacked the US consulate and a safe house refuge in Benghazi in an attack US government officials said on Wednesday may have been planned in advance. The attackers were part of a crowd blaming America for a film they said insulted the Prophet.
Garcia said the film was shot in the summer of 2011 inside a church near Los Angeles, with actors standing in front of a ‘green screen,’ used to depict background images. About 50 actors were involved, she said.
An expired casting notice at Backstage.com listed a film named ‘Desert Warrior’ that it described as a low-budget ‘historical Arabian Desert adventure film.’ None of the characters were identified in the casting call as Mohammad.
‘They told me it was based on what it was like 2,000 years ago at the time of the Lord,’ Garcia said. ‘Like the time Christ was here.’
[h=1]FILMMAKER[/h]Several US news organizations on Tuesday night had reported that the film was produced by a man who identified himself as an Israeli-American property developer, Sam Bacile. He had told the media organizations that the film cost $5 million, some of which was paid by around 100 Jewish donors.
Reuters could not independently confirm his responsibility for the film, or even that Bacile was his real name, nor could he be located for comment.
The Backstage.com casting call listed a man of a similar name, Sam Bassiel, as the producer, while the director was named as Alan Roberts. Roberts could not be immediately located by Reuters.
Steven Klein, a southern California man in the insurance business who described himself as a consultant and a spokesman for the project - but not the filmaker - said he believed the name was a pseudonym.
‘I’ve met him twice, I don’t know what country he’s from. I do know he’s not an Israeli Jew and I can only guess he threw that out to protect his family, which I do know is back in the Middle East,’ Klein told Reuters in an interview in front of his home in Hemet, California, as he sipped a beer.
Klein, who described himself as a former US Marine, said he advised the filmmaker to go into hiding.
Hate-group tracker the Southern Poverty Law Center has described Klein as a Christian with ties to right-wing extremists, which he denies. He said he did not see the film being made, and it could not be independently confirmed that Klein was involved with the project.
[h=1]VOICE OVER[/h]The largely obscure English-language film’s low production values were evident in its stilted dialogue and wooden acting. Klein said there was an attempt to screen the full movie at a theatre in southern California under a slightly different title, but after 30 minutes into the film no tickets had been sold.
Garcia, who appeared in online clips from the film, said her character was forced to give away her child to a character named ‘Master George’ in one scene. The casting call describes a character named George as a ‘strong leader’ and a ‘tyrant.’
But in a 13-minute trailer posted at YouTube.com, Garcia’s character appears to be dubbed over in that scene, with a voice-over for her character referring to Mohammad instead of George.
YouTube, the video website owned by Google Inc, has restricted access to the film clips in Egypt and Libya, according to Google.
Garcia said she remembered the film’s producer as a man named Sam Bassil, whom she described as an older man with graying hair and an accent. She said he paid her with a check. She said she called him on Wednesday after the protests.
‘I asked him why did he do that and put me in a bad position to where all these people get killed for a movie I was in?’ Garcia said, adding that the man she knew as Bassil told her it was not her fault.
Meanwhile, Morris Sadek, a U.S.-based Egyptian Coptic Christian activist who said he promoted the film, told Reuters he was sorry US diplomats had been killed and that his objective had been to highlight discrimination against Copts in Egypt.
Coptic Christians, who form Egypt’s biggest minority group and constitute most of Egypt’s Christian population, have had a difficult relationship with the country’s overwhelmingly Muslim majority. Conflicts over conversions, cross-faith romances and church-building have flared in Egyptian towns where turf wars or family rivalries often loom as large as sectarian loyalties. Since former President Hosni Mubarak’s removal, Christians have become increasingly worried after a surge in attacks on churches, which they blame on hardline Islamists, though experts say local disputes are often also behind them.
Egypt’s Coptic Orthodox church has condemned some Copts living abroad who it said had financed ‘the production of a film insulting Prophet.’
Representatives from the Coptic Orthodox Archdiocese of North America did not immediately respond to phone calls requesting comment.
Klein blamed the violence in North Africa on Muslim extremists.
‘Do I have blood on my hands? No,’ said Klein, who the SPLC said has worked with a militia at the California-based Church at Kaweah and conducts drills with a San Francisco-based group named Christian Guardians.
‘Those people are screwballs,’ Klein said of the Southern Poverty Law Center. He added he is not ‘what these people say.’
