General Raheel Sharif has expressed wish to appoint Lieutenant General Qamar Bajwa as next Army Chief whereas the government has nominated Lieutenant General Zubair Mahmood Hayat. The government is also focusing on a technical point that Chief of Army Staff can also be appointed from the Navy or Airforce which will improve the morale of other forces.

I pointed out this point few months back , but some nut shell patwaries abused me very badly..

journalist must have printed wrong about air-force/navy becoming army chief instead of CJCS. highly unlikely that army will let govt to appoint CJCS other than army specially in current scenario.

I don't know how much the news is true. But NS has definitely gone abroad to take dictates. However, one thing is for sure, if there comes a general on top who is moving against the current drive of Army, he will also be dealt like the Army dealt with the ISI chief in 99. There is a great chance of internal friction inside the organization, therefore, NS and US both have to consider an option on whom RS clearly gives his consent.

On the other hand, RS is least likely to become the Chief of the 33 nation's Allied force.
