Distribution of free textbooks begins in Khyber

LANDI KOTAL: Distribution of free textbooks to government schools in Khyber Agency begun on Tuesday.

Most books went to educational institutions in Bara tehsil though over 200 government schools are closed there for lawlessness.

Local officials said the Directorate of Education, Fata had handed over 729,290 textbooks to assistant education officer Khalilur Rehman on May 8 for distribution to schoolchildren in Khyber Agency.

They said 362,250 books were sent to Bara, 306,500 to Landi Kotal and 60,640 to Jamrud.

Education officials asked to verify utilisation of grant

KARAK: Adviser to chief minister on prisons Malik Qasim Khan has directed the local authorities of education department to check utilisation of the conditional grant, provided by the government for provision of basic facilities to primary schools for girls in the district.

The adviser to chief minister was informed that provincial government had released first instalment of the conditional grant for provision of basic needs in 199 primary schools for girls that was utilised.

If you have Rs 1000 rupees to spend and manage to spend only Rs 400.
How the hell on earth unused budget of Rs 600 could go in drain ?
Under Roll over provision,

“For every period there is a new authorisation and the money remains in the State’s account,under-spenders of the national budget allocations are still with the Auditor-General (AG)’s office while the 2013/14 figures of the same will only be available for public consumption this September once the AG concludes his audits.
