A PAEDOPHILE who argued that deporting him back to Pakistan breached his right to family life has finally been booted out in a decision hailed as a victory for common sense.
Zulfar Hussain, 48, admitted carrying out vile attacks on youngsters including child abduction, child sex and supplying youngsters with ecstasy after luring two girls into a sex trap.
But in yet another disgraceful example of the Human Rights Act, he convinced a judge in 2010, when he was due to be released from jail, that he be allowed to stay in Britain. He claimed deportation breached his right to family life under Article Eight. His British citizen wife of 21 years and children have lived here for 10 years.
But the UK Borders Agency won an appeal in January and detained Hussain. Yesterday, it emerged he was sent back to his native Pakistan on Saturday after he lost his case following a series of appeals and court hearings, costing taxpayers an estimated 100,000. Police sources hailed it a victory for common sense.
Immigration Minister Damian Green said: We will not accept foreign nationals like Zulfar Hussain breaking our laws. Those who commit serious offences should be removed at the earliest possible opportunity. Hussain, from Blackburn, was jailed for five years and eight months in August 2007 at Preston Crown Court. He was ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life and banned from associating with girls under 16 for life.
Qaiser Naveed, 34, from Burnley, who was jailed alongside Hussain for the same offences, did not appeal his deportation back to his native Pakistan.
They had picked up two girls aged around 15, who were in the care of social services at Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council. The men began having sex with the girls in 2005.
In February 2006 the alarm was raised by social services when one girl went missing. She had been picked up by the men in Hussains car. They then got the second girl before they plied them with ecstasy tablets and alcohol and had sex with them. Det Sgt Mark Whelan said: Knowing hes back in Pakistan will mean the victims are able to feel safe.
