Dear friends, the quran is very clear as to what kind of shirk is unforgiveable what what kind of shirk is fine.
The only shirk that is unforgiveable is using word allah or ilaah for anyone else other than allah. Because one is proper noun and other gender or classificational noun.
Mushrikeen are those people who claim word ilaah can be used on other than allah.
I have shown that all other words are used for allah and none gods even in each and evrry language humans speak. So it is not word that matters but the intenetion, the purpose or belief with which such a word is used.
Likewise any action one takes or whatever one does is not shlrk unless one does it for the purpose of shirk. You stand, sit, lie down, bow down etc etc, whatever you do only if you do it in worship of some one as your god other than allah that you commit shirk because you are already committed to shirk as your belief.
Likewise if waseelah or intercession is useless then one cannot explain why alah tells us to send drood on his prophet. If we think a bit about logic of only good deeds take us near god then is allah not asking us to waste our time in sending his blessing on his prophet?
Moreover if intercession or waseelah are shirk because they are deeds that are not told by allah then by same logic are not all deeds shirk that we do but alah has not told us to do?
Such logic that is why makes no sense becaue it works for some things the while not for others hence becomes a confusion rather than a divine message.
Allah says, by the place yuo live in. I have raised your name in fame. If things and people have no signifant in eyes of allah then why mention them?
Let us also think about islamic declaration itself ie LAA ILAAHA ILLALLAH= Here again we only negat godlnes of anyone other than allah not their humanity or other qualities. We only and only negate existence of any other god or gods. Not mere existence of everything else.
This is why this new kind of definition of shirk is utter nonsense and sefl defeating.
The other point is that, how do we know that prophets are dead and finished? Why then allsh is telling us to send peace and blessing upon them? I mean they have done what they came to do and nbowe they are dead and gone so why do we need to waste our time in invoking divine blessing for them? Are our such deeds any means of their rafa darajaat?
If we still are effective for them because allah is in the middle of all this then how can same not be true because it is allah in middle again? If allah can bless them in our names then why he cannot bless us in their names? This is the significance of hajre aswad or muqaame ibraheem, masjidal aqsa and graves of prophets and godly people ie these are places where blessing of allah are always showered.
So people and places related to them do have signiofance that is why mushrikeen also gave significance to these things but in addition they developed wrong beliefs about allah that is why are barred from the said blessings.
There is nothing wrong with praying at the graves of the prophets but if we believed in god incarnation then we will be barred from the benefits of graves or other places. Why allah made us visit kaaba? This si just a place. Why allah took his abd to masjidal aqsa? Prophets are long dead and buried already there. Why pray in any direction at all? All these things become seneless if we just wrongly define towheed and shirk. All things and people of god have significance that is why allah wants us to do things in those places and that way. What is point in running between safa and marwa? Because allah has made the blessed places land marks for the faithful of allah.
I am refraining from quoting the verses of the quran because they are many.
The names of prophets are raised high by allah so that they are not mentioned with his name in the masaajid is a clear lie against allah. Are we not supposed to read the quran in the masjid? If are then it is full of names of other than allah or is it not. In fact there is name of sataan as well in the quran so one needs to understand that names of bad people are mentioned for condemnation sake and not as gods and like wise names of porphets and godly people are mentioned to show fauithful allah's love and respect for those people ie allah is takes pride in names of his faithful servants like a teacher is proud of his good students or a father is propud of his good children.
What a great thing it would be if one could realise what the quran is really saying. Also one can see how awkward questions arise if we do not try and interpret the quran properly in its own context. Precisely because some of us make a big mess of what the quran says that islam is so much bad mouthed.
May allah open our hearts and minds and shower his blessings on us all.
regards and all the best.
28 MAKAH AL-QASAS – STORIES 49
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
[1] Tua Seen Meem.
[2] These are the verses of the Book that is clear.
[3] We narrate to you some information about Moses and Pharaoh for consistency of those who put their faith in our guidance.
[4] Pharaoh elevated himself in the land and divided its residents into groups to exploit them unduly, one of the groups he persecuted far more than the others putting their sons to death and sparing their females. Indeed he was one of the warmongers who inflicted harm on others.
[5] However, We decided to favour those who were oppressed in the land so we made them leaders, and made them the heirs,
[6] and established them in the land, and showed Pharaoh, Haman and their warriors at their hands the same which they feared.
[7] So We revealed Our will to the mother of Moses: Suckle him, and when you feel any danger to his life, cast him into the river without any worry or grief; for We shall certainly restore him to you and make him one of Our Messengers.
[8] We made Pharaoh’s family pick him up from the river: it was intended that Moses may become their adversary and a cause of theirsorrow; for Pharaoh, Haman and their warriors were all oppressors, cruel tyrants.
[9] The wife of Pharaoh said: This child may become the comfort of the eyes for me and for you. Do not kill him. He may prove useful to us or it may be that we will adopt him as our
son. They were unaware of the result of what they were doing.
[10] On the other hand, the heart of Moses’ mother was sorely troubled. She would have disclosed as to who he was, had We not strengthened her heart so that she might become one of those who are stronger in faith in our guidance.
[11] She said to Moses sister: Go, and follow him. So she watched him from a distance in such a way that the others did not notice it.
[12] We had already ordained that he would refuse to suck any foster mother. His sister came to Pharaoh's wife and said: Shall I point out to you a housewhose people will take care of him for you and they will be sincere to him?
[13] Thus did We restore him to his mother that her eye might be comforted, that she might not grieve and that she might know that the promise of Allah is true. Yet most of the people do not understand.
[14]When he reached maturity and became full-grown, We bestowed on him wisdom and
knowledge. Thus do We reward the righteous.
[15] One day he entered the city at a time when its people were not yet active, he found two men reaching to each other's throats; one was from his own race and the other of his foes. The man of his own race appealed for his help against his foe, whereupon Moses gave his foe a blow which killed him. He said: This is the work of the rebel and not of a law abiding person, surely rebel is an enemy that openly encourages breaking of the law.
[16] Then he prayed: O my Lord! I have indeed put myself into trouble with law of the land, so have mercy on me. So Allah graced him, surely He is Full of grace and Merciful.
[17] Moses promised: O my Lord! After this favour that You have bestowed on me, I shall never be a helping hand to the rebels.
[18] Next morning as he was walking in the city in fear and caution, suddenly he saw the same man whom he had helped the day before cried out to him again for help. Moses
replied: You are certainly a person doing things against the law of this land.
[19] Then when Moses was about to lay his hands on a man who was an enemy to both of them, he cried out: O Moses! Do you intend to kill me as you killed a person yesterday? You only want to become a rebel in the land and have no intention of abiding by the law of the land.
[20] At that time, there came a man running from the other end of the city and said: O Moses! Thechiefs are plotting to kill you, therefore, run away, surely I am your well wisher.
[21] Hearing this, Moses left that place in fear and caution, praying: O my Lord! Deliver
me from the nation of tyrants.
[22] As he made his way towards Madyan, he said: Soon my Lord shall guide me to the
Right Way.
[23] When he arrived at the well of Madyan, he saw a multitude of men watering their flocks, and besides them two women who were keeping their flocks back. He asked: What is the problem? They replied: We cannot water our flocks until the shepherds take away their flocks from the water, because we are weak and our father is a very old man.
[24] So he watered their flocks for them and went back to the shade and prayed: O Lord! Surely I am in desperate need of whatever good that You may send for me.
[25] Soon after that, one of the two women came to him walking bashfully and said: My father is calling you. He wishes to reward you for watering our flocks for us. When Moses came to him and narrated his story, the old man said: Have no fear. You have escaped from those wicked people.
[26] One of the daughters said: Father, hire this man. The best that one can hire is a man who is strong and trustworthy.
[27] The old man said to Moses: I am willing to give you one of my daughters in marriage if you stay in my service for eight years; but you may complete ten if you wish. I do not want to put you in trouble; Allah willing, you will find me one of those who do good for others.
[28] Moses replied: So be it an agreement between me and you. Whichever of the two terms I complete, let there be no compulsion on me. Allah is the witness to what we have agreed upon.
[29] After completing the term of his agreement, when Moses was travelling with his family and flock, he saw a fire in the direction of Mount Tur. He said to his family: Stay here, I saw a fire and I hope to bring some information from there or a lighted torch with which you may warm yourselves.
[30] But when he reached there, a voice called out to him from the right side of the valley of the blessed spot from a tree , O Moses, surely I am Allah the Lord of the nations.
[31] Here is what I want you to do, so learn your task and fulfil your duty of messengership. As Moses saw the long list of task before him like a giant snake andhe fell into state of worry, and could concentrated no longer on the task again; Allah said, O Moses, get hold of yourself and worry not; you are indeed of those who have been given the task of establishing peace.
[32] Now take this responsibility to your heart: it will be discharged fully by you without any fault or harm to you, so draw your strength from it whenever something causes you to worry, for these are two credentials from your Lord for you to face Pharaoh and his chiefs, surely they are a bunch of wicked people.
[33] Moses then said: Lord! I have killed one of them: I think they will put me todeath.
[34] My brother Aaron, he is more eloquent in speech than I: send him with me as a helper to confirm my words; I fear that they will treat me as a liar.
[35] Allah replied: We will certainly strengthen your arm with your brother and give both of you such evidence that they shall not be able to lay their hands on you. Now proceed with Our task. You and those who follow you will surely triumph.
[36] When Moses came to Pharaoh and his chiefs with Our nine clear commandments, they said: This is nothing but a conspiracy against our rule; we never heard such a thing that a ruler be dictated the legal framework by a common man in the time of our forefathers.
[37] Moses said: My Lord knows best who it is that comes with right guidance from Him and who will gain the better outcome in the end; surely those who live by rules that allow them take undue advantage of others to use and abuse them will not attain felicity.
[38] Pharaoh said: O Chiefs! You have no other god that I know of, except myself. O Haman! Bake for me bricks from clay and build me a lofty palace so that I could rise to the challenge of God of Moses to show I am happy and prosperous and I shall prove Moses is a liar, for we have a better way of life by living according to our own rule.
[39] Thus he and his warriors were arrogant in the land against our guidance that was right and they thought that they would never be called to account by Us.
[40] So We let arrogance seized him and his warriors and flung them into the sea. See what was the end of those who do what is harmful for others?
[41] We made them leaders inviting towards pain and suffering, but on the Day appointed they will not get any help to be free of pain and suffring.
[42] We covered them in disgrace in this world, and on the Day of Resurrection they will be of the despised.
[43] We gave Moses the Bookafter We had destroyed the former generations, an eye opener, a guide, and a blessing so that they may be reminded of the lessons.
[44] O Muhammad, you were not present on the western side of the mountain when We
gave Moses the Law, nor did you witness that event.
[45] We raised many generations and a long time has passed over them; you were not living among the people of Madyan, reciting to them Our revelations; but it is We Who are sending to you the information of that time.
[46] Nor were you at the side of the mountain of Tur when We called out to Moses, but it is your Lord’s mercy that you are being given this information so that you may forewarn a nation to whom no Warner had come before you. Maybe they will take heed,
[47] so that they may not be able to say, when a disaster befalls them on account of their misdeeds: Our Lord, had You sent us a Messenger, we would have followed Your revelations and put our faith in them.
[48] Now that the Truth has come to them from Us, they are saying: Why is he (Muhammad) not given the like of what was given to Moses? Have they not rejected that which was given to Moses before? They claim: These (Torah and Qur’an) are the two works for conspiracies complementing each other! And they say: We deny and oppose each of them indeed.
[49] Ask them: Bring a Book from Allah which is a better guide than these two, I will follow it, if what you say is true!
[50] So if they do not meet this demand, you should know that they only follow their own wicked ambitions and destructive desires. And who is more misguided than the one who follows his own wrong desires rather than the guidance from Allah that shows clearly what is right and beneficial for mankind? In fact, Allah does not guide such people who do wrong to others.
[51] We have conveyed Our Word to them over and over again in order that they may
take heed.
[52] Those to whom the scriptures were given before this (Jews and Christians), they do recognize the Truth and believe in this (Qur’an).
[53] When it is recited to them they say: We believe in it, surely this is the Truth from our Lord: indeed we were believers even before this.
[54] They are the ones who will be given their reward twice, because they have endured with fortitude, repelling evil with good and using what We have given them to benefit others.
[55] When they sense the wicked among them plotting harm against others, they withdraw from the group saying: though our deeds are for us and yours for you; yet be you peaceful, for we dislike things done the way of the ignorant.
[56]O Prophet, you cannot give guidance to whom you wish, it is Allah Who givesguidance to whom He pleases, and He is quite aware of those who are guided.
[57]Those who do not wish to be guided say: If we go along with you and accept this
guidance, we shall be driven out from our land. But have We not given them a secure sanctuary to which are brought the fruits of all kinds as a provision from Us? But most of them have no knowledge.
[58] How many towns have We destroyed who once flourished in their economy? Just see those dwellings of theirs, only a few of which have been inhabited after them; at last We Alone became their inheritors.
[59] Your Lord would never destroy the towns until He had sent in their metropolis aMessenger, proclaiming to them Our revelations; and We would not destroy towns except when some of their dwellers turn powerful and wealthy by a wicked process whereby they harm and even destroy the rest instead of doing good for each other.
[60] The things which you have been given are but the provisions and adornments of this worldly life; and that which is with Allah is better and more lasting. Why don’t you use your sense to figure this out?
[61] Can a person to whom We have made a handsome promise and he is sure toreceive it, be like the one to whom We have only given the provisions of this worldand he is scheduled to be presented on the Day of Resurrection for punishment?
[62]Let them not forget that Day when We shall call those religious chiefs and ask: Where are thosewhom you deemed to be My associates and whereby you misled people from my guidance and made them oppose it?
[63] Those who are proven guilty as charged will say: Our Lord! These are the ones whom we led astray; we led them astray as we were astray ourselves following our ancestors and our own make beliefs. However, we plead our innocence before You; it was not us that they worshipped.
[64] Then they will be told: Appeal to those whom you took for gods, so they will appeal to them but will get no answer. They will see the punishment and wish that they had accepted our guidance.
[65] Let them also not forget that, on that Day, He will ask them: How did you respond to OurMessengers, supported them or declared wars on them?
[66] They will be so awe struck on that Day that their response will be haphazard as all their arguments will seen by themselves to be weak and they will be lost for words even to ask one another to build their defence.
[67] However, the one who has turned to our guidance in this life, and put faith in it, and
did good to others will have hope to be among those who will achieve salvation.
[68] Your Lord brings about by way of cause and effect whatever He wills and chooses for His work whomever He pleases. Itis not for them the opposers of his guidanceto choose and assign the powers of Allah to whom they want. Glory be to Allah! He is far above those whom they take for gods beside him.
[69] Your Lord knows all that they conceal in their hearts and all that they reveal. He is fully Aware of the subtle and manifest stages toward the fulfilment of His Plan.
[70] He is Allah; there is no god but Him. Glory belongs to Him in this world and in the
hereafter: His is the ultimate decision and judgment that counts and to Him you all shall be brought back.
[71] O Prophet, ask them: Have you ever considered that if Allah were to make the night
a perpetual torment for you till the Day of Resurrection, which deity other than Allah could bring you light of relief from this torment? Will you not consider this a mercy from your lord that he did not put you through torment?
[72] Ask them again: Have you ever considered that if Allah were to make the day a perpetual torment for you till the Day of Resurrection, which deity other than Allah could bring you the period of time in which you could find relief? Will you still not see the mercy of your lord?
[73] It is out of His mercy that He has made for you the night pleasant that you may rest in it, and the day also pleasant that you may seek His bounty happily, so that you may render thanks to him for making your life bearable and hopeful.
[74] Behold the day when He will call them and ask: Where are those deitieswhom you deemed My associates?
[75] And We shall bring forth a witness from every nation and ask: Bring your proof about other deities besides Me. Then they shall come to know that in reality there is only One God, Allah, and gods of their own inventions have left them in the lurch.
[76] The fact is that Qarun (Korah) was one of Moses people, but he rebelled againstthem. We had given him such treasures that their very keys were a heavy burden toa band of strong men. When his people said to him: Do not exult in arrogance against guidance of Allah, for Allah does notlove those who exul in arrogance against his guidance.
[77] Rather seek, by means of what Allah has given you, to attain the abode of the hereafter, while not neglecting your share in this world. Be good to others as Allah has been good to you, and do not seek fights in the land, for Allah does not love the warmongers.
[78] He replied: All that I have been given is by virtue of the knowledge that I possess as to how I exploit others to my advantage at their expense. Did he (Qarun) not know that Allah had destroyed many people before, who were mightier in strength and greater in riches
than him for the very same reason harming others to benefit oneself? But the criminal elite are not called to account immediately for their sins against other human beings.
[79] One day he came out before his people in his worldly glitter, those who sought the
life of this world said: Would that we had the like of Qarun’s fortune! He is indeed a very lucky man.
[80] But those who were endowed with knowledge from Allah said: Alas for you! Better is the reward of Allah for him that has faith and does good for others than the gathering of the wealth by way of unduly exploiting others; but none shall attain it save those who endured with fortitude.
[81] At length We pulled the earth from underneath his feet along his family, and he had no host to help him against Allah; nor was he able to defend himself.
[82] Now the same people who envied him for his lot some time earlier, began to say: Alas! We had forgotten that it is indeed Allah Who enlarges the provision for whom He wills and restricts it from whom He pleases. If Allah had not been gracious to us, He could have pulled the earth from underneath our feet as well. Alas! We did not remember that those who deny and oppose guidance of Allah never attain felicity.
[83] As for the good abode of the Hereafter, We have reserved it for those who seek neither
to rule others as their masters nor cause corruption in the earth by way of exploiting others unduly to take advantage of them; so the ultimate good is for those who do what is good for others.
[84] Anyone who brings goodness to others shall have something even better; while anyone who brings harm to others by way of evil deeds will be punished only to the extent of the damage of their misdeeds.
[85] O Prophet, rest assured that He Who charged you with The Qur'an will bring you to the best destination. Say: My Lord best knows him who has brought guidance and so do people by his goodness he brings to them as well as him who is in manifest error and is inflicting damage upon damage on his fellow human beings.
[86] You (O Muhammad) never expected that the Book would be revealed to you. Only through your Lord'smercy has it been revealed to you: therefore do not be a helper in any way to those who deny and oppose our guidance and exploit others as their masters inflicting damage on brotherhood of mankind.
[87] Let no one turn you away from the revelations of Allah now that they have been revealed to you. Invite people to your Lord and be not of those who put others in place of Allah against his advice.
[88] Invoke no other god besides Allah. There is no god but Him. Everything is perishable except Him. To him belongs the decision and judgement ultimately and to him will you all be returned.
29 MAKAH AL-‘ANKABUT – THE SPIDER 85
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
[1] Alif Laam Meem.
[2] Do the people think that they will be left alone on saying, We believe and that they will not be asked to demonstrate their faith?
[3] We did as those who have gone before them to demonstrate their faith. Allah makes evident those who are truthful in their claim of faith in his guidance and who are the liars.
[4] Or is it that those who inflict harm and destruction upon humanity think that they will escape from Our reach? How wrong is their assessment of what they are doing to others and what they are expecting back of them!
[5] He that hopes to meet Allah must know that Allah’s appointed time of revolt and revolution is bound to come when the pot is full and He hears all and knows all.
[6] He that strives for benefiting or harming others, does that for himself; for Allah is certainly transcendent and beyond dependence on anything and anyone in the universe.
[7] As for those who believe and try their best to do good for others, We shall free them of their sins and We shall reward them according to the best of their efforts and deeds.
[8] We have enjoined man to show kindness to his parents; but if they force you to take gods beside Me, of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them. To Me is your return and I will inform you reward you for all that you do.
[9] Those who have accepted the true faith and do what is right shall be admitted among the
righteous.
[10] There are some among people, who say: We believe in Allah; yet when they are made to suffer by opposers of our guidance in the cause of Allah they confuse their persecution of people with the punishment of Allah. But when there comes help in the shape of a victory from your Lord, they are sure to say: We have always been with you. Is not Allah fully aware of what is in the hearts of the people of the world.
[11] Most surely Allah knows those who believe and knows those who are the hypocrites.
[12] The opposers of our guidance say to the supporters of our guidance: Follow us, and we will bear the burden of your sins. But they will not bear any burden of their sins; they are lying for sure because it is obvious from their exploitation of others right here in this world. If they helped others instead of exploiting them then they could have a chance to be believed
[13] Of course, they shall be forced to bear their own burdens as well as the burdens of others in addition to their own whom they would have misled to do the same; and on the Day of Resurrection they shall be questioned about their invented lies.
[14] We sent Noah to his people with our guidance and it remained amongst them a thousand years less fifty. Then when they let go of it because of their wrongdoings to each other the storm of destruction overtook them.
[15] Even though we delivered him and all who embarked on the same journey and We made that a lesson for the peoples of the nations.
[16] Also think of Abraham, when he said to his people: put your faith in Allah alone as your god and be mindful of Him, this is better for you if you could learn to understand.
[17] You worship idols besides Allah and fabricate falsehood. In fact, those whom you worship besides Allah have no power to give you your sustenance, therefore seek your sustenance from Allah, and believe in Him. Give thanks to Him, for to Him you shall be returned.
[18] If you deny the Message, then many nations have denied before you . The only duty a Messenger has is todeliver Allah’s Message clearly.
[19] Do they not see how Allah originates creation and repeats the process? Surely it is easy for Allah.
[20] Say to them: Travel through the earth and observe carefully as to how Allah originates the creation and brings about later creatures from the earlier ones. Surely Allah has power over everything.
[21] He punishes whom He wills and shows mercy to whom He pleases, and to Him you shall be turned back.
[22] Neither can you frustrate Him in the earth or in the Heaven; nor have you any protector or helper besides Allah.
[23] As for those who oppose Allah’s revelations and deny that they will ever meet Him, they are the ones who shall despair of My mercy and they are the ones who shall have a painful punishment.
[24] The people of Abraham had no answer except to say: Kill him! Or torture him! But Allah saved him from the agony, for they banished him from the land. Surely in this incident there are lessons for those who believe in facts instead of fiction.
[25] Abraham addresses them in farewell: Today you have taken idols as gods besides Allah as a means of exploitation among yourselves, but on the Dayof Resurrection you shall disown and disgrace one another. Fire shall be your abodeand you shall have no helper.
[26] Listening to this talk of Abraham, Lot reaffirmed his belief in Abraham. Abraham said to him: I will migrate towards my Lord (go where my Lord has bidden me). He is the Mighty, the Wise.
[27] We gave him a son Isaac and a grandson, and placed the Prophethood and the Book in
his progeny - thus We gave him his reward in this life, and in the hereafter he will surely be among those who did what is good for others.
[28] When Lot said to his people: Surely you are committing such crimes as brings great shame on us as a people, for no one in the nations has ever attempted before you such crimes to such degree.
[29] Do you approach men to rob them on the highways and commit evil deeds even in your assemblies out of habit? His people had no answer except to say: Bring us the destruction of Allah if you are truthful.
[30] Lot prayed: O Lord! Help me against this degenerate nation.
[31] When Our sent ones came to Abraham with the good news from their prophet who sent them to help Lot, they also said: We are to attack and destroy the people of that town, for itspeople are indeed wrongdoers making life of others impossible.
[32] Abraham said: But Lot is in there also. The replied: We know who is in there: we shall certainly save him and his family, excepthis wife, who will remain behind!
[33] And when Our sent ones came to Lot to help he became sad and anxious for their safety, for he felt powerless. But they said, Do not worry nor grieve we have been sent to help you: we shall save you and your family except your wife; she will be of those who will remain behind.

[34] We are going to fulfil to the people of this town the divine forecast on account of their terrible transgression against the guidance of Allah.

[35] Surely We have made whatever is left of the town a clear lesson for people who care to understand.

[36] To the people of Madyan We sent their brother Shu‘aib, who said: O my people!believe in Allah and look forward to the Last Day, and do not transgress in the landwickedly.

[37] But they opposed him, so at length a severe revolt seized them by surprise and by the morning they were lifeless bodies in their own homes.

[38] Likewise We destroyed the people of ‘Ad and the Thamud: you have seen the traces of their dwellings. The wicked leadership of theirshad made their foul deeds fair-seeming to them and diverted them from the Right Way of life, though they were intelligent people but they used their brains to unduly exploit others. So their knowledge availed them not because they ignored guidance of Allah.

[39] Moses came to Korah, Pharaoh and Haman with clear commandments but they remained arrogant in the land; yet they could not go ahead of Us.

[40] We seized all of the elite for their sinfulness: against some We sent a violent tornado of revolt whereby their own masses stoned them to death, some were seized by a mighty attacks by another nation, some were left in utter poverty after their wealth and status was taken away from them in various ways as if the earth was pulled from underneath their feet, and yet some We drowned by their own wrong doing. It was not Allah Who was unjust to them, but they were unjust to themselves.

[41] The parable of those who take protectors other than Allah is that of a spider whobuilds for itself a dwelling, and surely the weakest of all dwellings is the dwelling of aspider, if they but knew it, for it can trap the weak that spider preys upon but withstand not the strong the predator.

[42] Surely Allah knows whoever they invoke besides Him; He is the All-Mighty, the Wise.

[43] These are the parables that We cite for mankind; but none will grasp them except the wise.

[44] Allah has created the heavens and the earth for a set purpose. Surely in this there is a lesson for those who put their faith in guidance of Allah.

[45] Pursue that which is revealed to you from the book and establish the divine order. Surely divine order keeps one away from doing things that bring shame upon oneself and harm to others; and raise the name of Allah above all, and Allah knows all that you manufacture.

[46] And argue not with the People of the Book but for the good of all except with those who are wicked among them - and say: We believe in that which is sent to us and that which was
sent to you; Our God and your God is the same One God to Whom we submit to attain peace.

[47] We have sent this Book to you so that the People of the Book believe in it, and so do of the other people: for none but opposers of our guidance deny Our revelations.

[48] O Muhammad, you have never read a book to them before this nor have you ever transcribedone with your right hand. Had you done either of these things, the quibblers would have doubted your claim yet more than they do now.

[49] Nay, surely these are clear evidences in the minds of those who are endowed with
knowledge: and none deny Our signs except those who inflict harm on others.

[50] They ask: Why have the signs we demand not been sent to him from his Lord? Tell them: To send signs and to determine their nature is up to Allah. I am only a plain Warner.
