I had forewarned at the outset that this thread is all about political iran, nothing but political iran.
Now coming on to the debate, in my view a perception has started developing in Pakistani intelligentsia and the common man in the street that iran considers terrorism an effective tool for promoting its foreign policy. Accordingly, in the forty years since the sad happenings of 1979, Tehran has diligently established and nurtured a comprehensive array of transnational terror networks that now unfortunately have a global reach. Through this array, Tehran aims to advance its aspiration for regional hegemony and deter its neighboring Gulf States and its enemies, primarily SA, to secure itself from later's any military option against it with the help of US and its western allies.
Although Tehran outwardly claims that it respects the sovereignty of Sunni States in the Middle East, it has actually subverted them to install its ideological regimes (as an example, the failed coup attempt in Bahrain in 1981 and Kuwait in 1985). Alternatively, Iran has strived to strengthen anti Sunni governments or tendencies (for example, its meddling in the political arenas in Iraq, Yemen, Nigeria, Lebanon and Syria). Accordingly, as Khomeini did at the time, the current Iranian leader Khamenei also referred to the Sunni governments, Iran’s rivals in the region, as “the little devils in the region.” Iran offers financial assistance, training, and arming of Shiite, and even some secular terrorist organizations. This is expressed through its support for the Lebanese Hezbollah, the Houthis in Yemen, the mostly Shiite Popular Mobilization Forces in Iraq, and the secular-oriented Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command of the Palestinians.
All these worldwide terrorist activities are conceptualized, planned, advanced, approved and operationalized by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Force of iran of which Khamenei is the Commander in Chief.
It is pertinent to note that as early as 1987, the CIA had stated that the Khomeini-led Iranian leadership considers "terrorism by proxy" an effective tool for exporting their Revolution Ideology. During Khamenei’s leadership, since 1989, Iran has enhanced and developed the operation of terrorist networks. These networks have progressed to become the spearhead of Iranian aggression, to be used on any chosen command day against any country. The great weight attributed by Khamenei to the promotion of the pro-Iranian terrorist network was evident on November 20, 1989, about six months after he took office as Leader, when he commissioned Quds Forces “to establish popular and armed units of Hezbollah worldwide.” In light of this order, headed by Ahmad Vahidi (1990-1998) and, since then, the assasinated Qassem Soleimani, the Quds Force has made extensive efforts to establish and foster transnational terror networks. And this is the Qassem Soleimani about whom Citizen X and @@O.P were discussing in their debate when misguided iranian stooges jumped in with their slurs on the duo and everyone under the sun. If these misguided people had any defense to counter the arguments of the above ID members then they should have entered into a civilized debate and NOT with their diabolic behavior. They should learn to enter into a civil debate if they think they are educated people.
