Smog is a result of decades of irresponsibility and criminal negligence.

Today it has been discussed in courts of pakistan what measures are being taken to counter the smog over lahore , to the disappointment of court of the court that this smog wasnt created overnight. In modern civilized societies vehicles are checked for emissions and if they do not pass the test they are not allowed on the roads.

There are thousands of rikshaws , motorcycles , chingchis , loaders and other vehicles on the road which are daily submitting their share of harmful emissions in lahore air and yet only few factories were sealed.

What are we going to do about these obsolete vehicles? Like every other serious matter which involve general polulace health risk this matter has never been considered serious , the time bombs in shape of cng cylinders are still being used in vehicles without any fatigue test.

Perhaps another guarantee by Mr. Minallah might do the trick. After all he is giving leases of life to humans.

There is a device called catalytic converter in modern cars which do not let harmful emissions (NOX and HCs) in the air and when we look at the imported Japanese cars in the market the usual problem we see is that catalytic converter is chocked and car loses bit of performance but i have never seen mehran or swift encounter such problem because they do not have catalytic converter inside them. NOX and HCs are mainly responsible for formation of smog , still no one gives a damn about it. What is environmental ministry doing about it?

The biggest smog for Pakistan was the smog of Shareef and Bhuttos. ALL THEY DID WAS CREATE HARAM WEALTH FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR FUTURE GENERATIONS. THEY NEVER CARED ABOUT PAKISTAN AND PAKISTAN'S FUTURE...

What has happened to Lahore is the ultimate testament to the tunnel vision, criminal ineptness, sheer disdain for nature and heritage, and the starkly naked hollow vision of the luminaries of Lahore, by the title of Sharifs. Their lust for hoarding commissions through ill-planned and shabbily erected structures of metal and sand all over Lahore, resulted in uprooting of nearly 70% of city’s flora, demolition of our centuries old heritage and poison replete air to breathe. No wonder his platelets will never improve in the air that he breathes.
Yet, my brother, Bhaibarood, here considers this one of Sharifs’ biggest marvels, which is worthy of giving them the stature of Mr. Mandela and Churchill.
